Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Operations Managers are responsible for the day-to-day operations and short/long-term planning for the groups they manage. They manage manufacturing, production control, engineering, inventory control, EH&S, shipping/receiving, etc. focusing on the development of technologies and continuous improvement and translating customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes.

 

Responsibilities:

 

•     Perform production processes as lead operator. Lead daily Tier II meeting.

•     Provide training to all existing and new shift team members including, but not limited to: standard operating procedures, processing techniques, job duties and responsibilities, equipment, quality procedures including procedures pertaining to measure dimensions and containment of non-conforming materials, and certifications and recertifications.

•     Ensure job order and appropriate production process is being followed by assigned employees.

•     Ensure all tasks are performed in a safe manner.  Responsible for the safe performance of team members.

•     Analyze and report production results (including concerns) to Supervisor

•     Allocate resources based on production planning.

•     Assist in the resolution of production process issues (workflow, re-work, first piece inspection, etc.)

•     Participate in process improvement projects within team

•     As required, make sure all production order packets are printed and ready for upcoming orders

•     Review completed orders and verify reported production. If necessary, make adjustments to reported production.

•     Support and drive 5S, Safety Standards, Quality, and consistent implementation of company and plant procedures and policies.

•     Communicate effectively with internal customers as well as peers and to identify problems and enhance capabilities of the team.  Assist operators and identify trouble-shooting activities. Refer to Engineering for root-cause solutions to recurring problems.

•     Partner with Shift Supervisor on daily basis to maximize productivity, prioritize daily activities, build positive engagement and a culture of safety, inclusion and continuous improvement.

•     Implement and maintain operational procedures and controls to ensure product meets customer required and recognized quality standards.

•     Actively participate in the PIM process

•     Coordinate, review and communicate customer specifications/changes.

•     Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives for the Safety, Quality, Logistics, Process, and Operations teams.

•     Help to resolve conflicts among team members, provide feedback on challenges or opportunities regarding team or individuals, and refer issues to Department Supervisor, Operations Manager, or other leader when needed.

•     Assist Supervisors and Management in understanding training and development needs for team members, as well as help execute the development of individuals.

•     Understand and help positively communicate changes in business situations, production schedules, and company policies.

•     Responsible for presenting his/her team’s results in meetings. This includes being able to explain what happened to drive downtime, waste, quality, rate, and other occurrences as well as how to prevent these occurrences in the future.

•     Responsible for the accurate completion of all paperwork and data entry including but not limited to production and downtime reports, incident reports and the distribution of specifications.

What your background should look like:

Qualifications:

•     High school diploma or GED required.

•     Minimum 2 years manufacturing experience required.

•     Must have ability to lead and motivate a group of peers without direct supervision authority.

•     Good track record of technical competence and/or leadership demonstrated through performance feedback.

•     Working knowledge of production flow and processes

•     Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) required for leading others.

•     Basic computer skills including data entry, SAP manufacturing and ISO 9001 knowledge.

•     Must be proficient in English language.

 

Physical requirements:

 

•     Must be able to lift/push/pull and carry a minimum weight of 50 lbs

•     Frequently required to extend arms and hands between knees and shoulders, frequent holding and grasping with hands

•     Frequent standing and walking is required in this job

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $48,000 – 50,100  ($23.08 – 24.09/HR)  (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
