ASSEMBLY OPERATOR III

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Assembly Teams operate assigned automated assembly machinery, ensure component flow, troubleshoot and correct machinery issues to ensure quality and productivity. They perform changeovers and setups according to production schedule, perform quality checks according to established processes and document the results as required by our quality procedures. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

•    Adhere to all safety and attendance policies
•    Visualize, comprehend and forward think the best machining practices necessary to complete part
•    Produce quality component parts by interpreting blue prints and following a production router, potentially running operations on a variety of machines including: lathe, manual braze station, belt sanders, drill press, pressure test
•    Hold tolerances as tight as .002 for various components
•    Troubleshoot issues and work with appropriate resources (i.e. engineering, supervision, inspection, etc.) to resolve
•    Perform first-piece inspection using micrometers, calipers, height indicator, etc.
•    Comprehend shop math and be resourceful in deciphering dimensions, tolerances, angles, etc.
•    Effectively manage work time and be self-directed to meet production needs/schedules
•    Exhibit understanding, flexibility, and willingness to changing priorities and fast paced environments
•    Communicate effectively with peers, management and other internal departments
•    Complete all quality and production documentation
•    Ability to learn with on the job shadowing
•    Familiarity with manual braze concepts such as compressed gas regulation, torch settings, speeds and feeds, etc.
 

What your background should look like:

Qualifications and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Minimum 1-3 years machine shop experience running various machine equipment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of manual milling, grinding, and brazing
  • Sodder/welding/braze certification preferred
  • Basic knowledge/comprehension of shop math
