ROLE DESCRIPTION
In this critical role, the Director will lead the advanced manufacturing process technology roadmap, concept development and implementation for the next generation E-mobility products.
This position will have the responsibilities for establishing assembly processes for the E-mobility platformed products that achieve the first-class quality, operation efficiency (reduced CAPEX, best conversion cost) and the reduced Time-to-Market. It is critical that the individual has the ability to bring together diverse regional requirements and work across organizational boundaries to deliver innovative solutions with broad applications.
ROLE REPORTING AND LOCATION
This position will report directly to the Vice President & General Manager for E-mobility. In this role, the person will be part of E-mobility’s Senior Leadership Team to deliver both short and long-term revenue growth and margin expansion objectives.
This Director can be based in Europe, preferable in Portugal with approximately 30% of travel expected to meet colleagues and clients, and work with the cross functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop the technology roadmap for the E-mobility manufacturing processes with manufacturing engineering CoE, product management, and product engineering
- Lead to develop future concepts, processes and standard platforms that are flexible, scalable, digital with minimized CAPEX
- Conduct advanced process development and feasibility studies including process specification definition, as well as integration of new processes into series production of platformed products
- Develop and execute manufacturing maturity assessment process to drive standardization
- Participate and coordinate design for manufacturing in collaboration with product engineering for E-mobility new product development
- Take advantage of latest manufacturing process and ensure optimum manufacturability
- Work with the TE plants and the Center of Excellence Team (COE) to help identify and implement best practices for the process engineering across all the regions
- Define and lead benchmark of competition’s manufacturing processes
- Foster an environment of continuous learning, and encouraging global collaboration in a geographically and culturally dispersed organization with a strong view on continuous improvement
What your background should look like:
- 12+ years of experience in manufacturing / Industrial Engineering field
- 5+ years in project management
- Experience in leading international teams
- Strong background in manufacturing concepts and processes
- Experienced with industrialization of new products
- Experiences in manufacturing of electro-mechanical and mechatronics components is a plus
- Strong background in assembly / automation related technical concepts and robotics, machines and control systems
- Innovative and high level of creativity
- Knowledge of the latest technologies and innovations
- Base knowledge of Operational Excellence, Digital and Lean tools (Six Sigma degree is preferable)
- Comfortable to work in a fast-paced, international matrix organization
- Fast learner, able to quickly familiarize her/himself with existing methods and practices and new concepts/ideas
- Strong problem solving, strategic and tactical thinking and analytical skills
- Strong business acumen & strategic mindset
- High interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong team formation and leadership skills
