Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Shipping & Receiving Teams perform manual and clerical duties, using computer systems to track, log, verify, and report shipments. They follow shipping procedures, transportation routing, and scheduling requirements. 

 

  • Loads and unloads trucks, interfacing with common carriers.
  • Signs bills of lading for incoming shipments and processes IBL/packing lists for vendor receipts using SAP.
  • Verifies incoming product against documentation, sorts products, and prepares them for put-away.
  • Receives products into SAP using barcode scanners or computers.
  • Places products in designated storage areas using order pickers, turret trucks, pallet jacks, and barcode scanners.
  • Breaks down/lumps floor-loaded containers.
  • Picks products for customer orders, manufacturing orders, and sample requests using barcode scanners, pick tickets, and shipping papers.
  • Performs put-away and pick duties, including bin location audits, unit load, and carton transfers.
  • Weighs or hand counts quantities for customer orders, manufacturing orders, and sample requests.
  • Reviews SAP packing functions or ship sets for packaging instructions.
  • Performs special packaging and applies customer-specific labeling per 107 specifications.
  • Identifies hazardous/flammable materials and prepares them for shipment per procedures.
  • Prepares cartons and pallet loads for shipment, attaching all required documentation.
  • Secures unit load shipments with stretch wrap or banding.
  • Generates manifests and bills of lading, verifying carton counts in staging areas.
  • Contacts common carriers to arrange shipment pickups.
  • Loads and unloads cartons from pallets, carts, or conveyors using forklifts and pallet jacks.

What your background should look like:

  • High School/G.E.D. and 1 year of relevant experience as determined by Supervisor, DC Operations.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Manages recycling and disposal of damaged wooden pallets.
  • Maintains cleanliness of workstation and overall housekeeping.
  • Performs warehouse tasks such as trash removal and cart distribution.
  • Understands, follows, and participates in all safety, security, and emergency procedures.
  • Submits suggestions to improve performance individually or as a team.
  • Identifies damaged products requiring QA audit or repacking.
  • Reports discrepancies to Shift Foreperson.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $29,400 –$44,200 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
