Job Overview

The Director of IT Infrastructure reports to the CIO and will participate in IT strategic planning, project planning, and budget planning efforts along with peers on the IT Leadership Team. This role will lead and direct the implementation of strategic technology initiatives to design, build, and maintain key elements of the infrastructure; including networking, data center infrastructure management, Active Directory, mobility and remote access services, unified communications, service desk, and end user services. This position will also have IT responsibilities providing IT services to offices in Spain and Australia along with several vessels.

Responsibilities & Qualifications


  • Oversee Information Technology functions at SubCom managing the company’s technology operations and ensure alignment with the business objectives of the organization
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for the design, development, operation and support of IT infrastructure and systems on a 24x7x365, including offshore operations
  • Assist the CIO with design and implementation of new DR and Business Continuity plans, along with new IT policies and standard operating procedures that will meet company performance objectives and IT Security compliance
  • Develop and execute a Cloud strategy for the Company
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships and oversee contract negotiations
  • Prepare, validate, and/or maintain security documentation including, but not limited to: system security plan (SSP), risk assessment (RA), contingency plan (CP), and privacy impact assessment (PIA)
  • Lead IA specialist for implementation of NIST 800-171 IA controls for CUI and DFARS requirements
  • Assist in the Development of policies to stipulate company procedures, roles, and responsibilities regarding the management of classified information and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) in accordance with EO 13556 and directives from the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) and Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI)


  • Minimum 15 years of IT experience of which five plus years of experience in an IT manager role, preferred in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related discipline
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Systems and Applications, Server and Storage Virtualization, Storage Area Network, Cisco Data and Voice Networking technologies and Cyber Security training is essential
  • Proven experience with Cloud services such as Office 365, Microsoft Azure and AWS
  • Knowledge of trends and tools in SaaS, IaaS, and Paas
