Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Administrative Support Teams are responsible for office administration and daily clerical duties including basic schedule planning, travel arrangements, documentation, and file maintenance. Other responsibilities include scheduling conferences/meeting rooms and responding to general inquiries. They create and maintain office documentation and files and review drafts and finished internal/external communication documents.

 

The postion within the Marine Services organization supports undersea telecom cable route planning and protection against fishing and anchoring risks. The position reports to a manager within Marine Services Department.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities: - Assist SubCom with our marine liaison initiatives with fishing groups and vessel operators to inform them of the presence of submarine cables to avoid damage - Use of SubCom’s web based Automatic Identification System (AIS) system used to track vessels near cables, set alarms, and notify vessels. - Potentially program new features and report formats - Accompany marine Liaison and Fisheries team on port visits to meet with fishing fleets and operators to learn of new trends that could threaten cables Qualifications: - Recent graduate or current student in pursuit of a Bachelor's Degree in Science/Marine Science or Engineering from an accredited university or school - Focus on fishing or vessel operations - Strong computer and programming, GIS and mapping skills. - Familiarity with Automatic Identification System (AIS) and radar tracking of vessels of interest is preferable, but not required
