Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams of Center Led Metals is looking to expand our resources in Europe. This new team member will work closely to develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers, and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price, and service. The candidate will align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. The selected candidate will execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Our teams demonstrate a high level of expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project and product lifecycle management) and ensure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures.

What your background should look like:

At least 1 year of direct material or indirect (production assets) sourcing experience in global manufacturing companies
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Business or Supply Chain is preferred
Fast learner in new product and new technology
Strong negotiation skills
Team player, willing to lead and persuade
Computer knowledge: MS-Office, SAP MM module is desirable
English language skills in speech and writing

What you'll do:

Work with Global Commodity Manager to establish and execute a commodity Strategy for Metal Rod, Metal Wire and Precious Metals to support various plants in Europe
Align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, operation, product management and functional owners to support the commodity plan.
Execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and for assigned commodities among different regions and product lines for optimal TE leverage. 
Drive TE operating advantage project to improve supplier compliance based on corporate policy.
Strengthen cross BU collaboration within all operating plants in Europe for further leverage.

Promote best demonstrated global practices related to the assigned commodities to support standard work between regions

Develop new and existing suppliers to algin with the KPI’s of the commodity and build a pipeline of VA/VE projects to support sustained productivity.
