Job Overview
Manages molding department supervisors and molding teams, and provides daily direction, coaching, and leadership to supervisors to ensure department alignment with operational strategies.
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations and longer term planning for manufacturing functions, including manufacturing, production control, engineering, inventory control, purchasing and shipping/receiving activities
- Defines goals, improves technologies, and resolves problems. Translates customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes, resulting in cost-effective processing and profitable manufacturing of company products. Develops operations related plans, budgets, and policies and procedures.
Your main tasks:
- Responsible for overall molding operations with full P&L accountability, driving productivity, cost efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction
- Leads continuous improvement and Lean (TEOA) initiatives to achieve operational excellence and safety targets while ensuring compliance with automotive quality and EHS standards
- Manages end-to-end production, including capacity planning, materials, and resources, to meet customer demand and business objectives
- Develops and executes operating budgets, production plans, and CapEx initiatives
- Builds and leads high-performing teams through effective workforce planning, talent development, performance management, and employee engagement
- Ensures stable daily operations, optimized machine utilization, and achievement of KPIs (OEE, scrap, delivery, quality)
- Drives a zero-incident safety culture, strong quality mindset (IATF 16949, ISO 9001), and a superior customer experience through structured processes, standard work, and data-driven decision-making
- Demonstrates strong decision-making and problem-solving skills to meet operational targets while effectively managing risk and compliance
- Brings a results-driven, customer-focused mindset with solid business acumen and high ethical standards
- Leads and develops diverse teams through clear vision, motivation, and trust-based leadership
- Applies strong expertise in operations strategy, Lean management, cost and inventory control, quality and risk management, and change leadership
- Excels in planning, organizing, project execution, and timely decision-making to drive continuous improvement and sustainable business performance
Your ideal profile:
- 4-Year College Degree Preferred. Technical discipline preferredAdvanced degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or MBA preferred
- Minimum 10+ years of experience required
- Minimum 5+ years management experience required. Experience in manufacturing or production environment desired
- Prior experience managing a team of direct and matrixed reports preferred
- Requires deep knowledge in area of accountability and multi-functional or multi-unit management experience
- Contributes to defining business strategy and develops own organization in support of that strategy
- Has measurable impact on operating efficiencies and organizational objectives
- Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including knowledge of current business trendsProvides input on resolving critical issues that impact the function
- Directs a function or unit or multiple subfunctions or sub-units through managers
- Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, work plans, and performance requirements
- Prior experience in supply chain, materials or operations management preferred
- Strong demonstrated engineering/technical acumen and finance/financial acumen preferred
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications, i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
