Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Purchasing Teams are responsible for obtaining materials, components, equipment and services, gather quotations, examine bids, and award contracts. They perform cost analysis and volume planning for commodities, evaluate vendor reliability and develop new supply sources where required. They coordinate purchasing activities with the manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels and monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value. They also look for and recommend cost saving proposals including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria as well as develop specifications for new contract orders.

Responsibilities:

- Core Team Member NPI (Manufacturing/Procurement) in the interdisciplinary Core Team (Regional and Global, with Business, Engineering, Finance, and Quality) in development of new projects in terms of processes and related tools and components
- Key stakeholder of coordination and managing Type II projects according responsibilities and tasks defined in LEANPD, AUTGP1
- Overall coordination (locally) of the complete core team
- Overall coordination of the complete manufacturing processes (molds, dies, assembly, supplied components and processes), which can be at internal suppliers or at external suppliers, focus on technology and procurement tasks
- Coordination of PFMEA and manufacturing risk analysis with focus on the overall process together with AQE
- Supplier-and sub supplier sourcing decision (Post- RFQ)
- Prepare calculation input for finance: gather all process related technical inputs (cycle times, number of cavities, efficiency, number of operators needed, invest needed (CAPEX), hours manufacturing needed, change over times, lot sizes)
- First assessment of tool related requirements, tool and equipment orders, follow up the timing of all the toolings and components
- Organization of master sample parts, transfer new products and processes to manufacturing, change management, process documentation, etc.

 

What your background should look like:

- Several years of experience in procurement and/or technical field, e.g. process engineering, product engineering, tool manufacturing
- Experience in project management
- Extensive experience in working with multicultural and cross functional teams
- Fluency in English
