MANAGER STRATEGY & M&A
Job Overview
Key responsibilities
• Support the regional Automotive leadership team in developing strategies that drive above-market organic and inorganic growth, ensuring cross-functional involvement and real-time input as the external environment changes (e.g., technology, customer needs, regulations, competitors, etc.)
• Manage and support project execution to help identify new growth drivers through uncovering attractive market spaces, but also optimize and transform the value of our portfolio determining what it takes to win, assessing competitive positioning and ultimately helping the organization to align on strategic direction and execution
• Prepare and support execution of approved collaboration assignments in alignment with all internal and external stakeholders (e.g., due diligence)
• Ensure that the business strategies being developed clearly articulate the business choices, are welldefined, lay out talent and resource requirements and are implementable
• Help support the strategic planning process and deepen strategic capabilities in the organization • Support research and analysis for identifying and assessing inorganic opportunities
Profile
• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or economics and experience in engineered-products industries (or similar qualification)
• MBA or another advanced degree from a top program is preferred
• 4+ years of cumulative business experience; 2+ years in a leading Management Consulting, M&A Consulting firm or comparable experience
• Individual should be a strategy practitioner well versed in the theory and tools of strategy formulation
as well as the practical implementation of strategy within a complex organization
• Operational track record of dealing with strategic business issues including industry structure, functional strategies and M&A activities
• Hands-on experience in continuous active portfolio management and in the execution of M&A projects
• Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle – with experience applying these skills in managing teams and leading projects
• Automotive industry and international experience are desired but not required
• Language: English fluency & fluency in language of location required, basic German skills are a plus
• Travel: willingness to travel 20-30% in Europe based on business demand
