Job Overview

At TE Connectivity, machine safety is a key strategic priority. This role goes beyond traditional occupational health and safety responsibilities by serving as a focal point for machine safety excellence. The successful candidate will be expected to actively develop and strengthen machine safety practices, drive LOTO compliance and energy isolation programs, support machinery-related risk reduction initiatives, and act as a trusted advisor to production and cross-functional teams on all machine safety-related matters.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Leading and supporting Machine Safety initiatives across the site
  • Conducting Machinery Assessments and participating in Machine Safety Improvement Projects
  • Acting as the site's Machine Safety Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • Driving compliance with Machine Safety Standards, regulations, and internal requirements
  • Supporting and developing LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and Energy Isolation Programs
  • Evaluating Residual Energy Hazards and implementing appropriate control measures
  • Supporting technical reviews of new and existing Production Equipment
  • Partnering with Production and Engineering teams to reduce machinery-related risks and 
    with regional EHS subject matter experts, managers, and cross-functional teams
  • Driving continuous improvement in Machine Safety, LOTO, and workplace safety processes
  • Evaluating EHS implications of changes in facility layouts, machinery, manufacturing processes, and technologies

Ideal Background

  • Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related technical field
  • Intermediate level English communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in a production-facing EHS role
  • Strong technical exposure with hands-on experience around manufacturing equipment, processes, and workplace safety
  • Previous experience in Occupational Health & Safety / Workplace Safety is a strong advantage
  • Experience in machine safety, machinery assessments, and technical risk evaluations
  • Sound knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), residual energy management, and machine safeguarding principles
  • CMSE (Certified Machinery Safety Expert) certification or equivalent machinery safety qualification is considered a strong advantage
