Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Environmental, Health & Safety Teams ensure and monitor environmental, health and safety in the workplace. This includes the application and communication of health, safety and hazardous material standards, procedures and practices consistent with TE, environmental and government regulations
The successful candidate will provide leadership in driving continuous improvement in Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHS&S) performance while reporting directly to the El Cajon (K98) Plant Manager. The role provides technical expertise across all functions to ensure a compliant and safe workplace for all employees, visitors and contractors. Job Requirements
- Lead all Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHS&S) programs and initiatives for the El Cajon site, providing technical expertise and driving achievement of site objectives.
- Foster a proactive safety and environmental culture through leadership, collaboration, training, communication, and employee engagement.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, TE Connectivity standards, permits, licenses, and best practices.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS&S programs, including Safety Management Systems (S.A.F.E.), risk assessments, hazard management, behavior-based safety, ergonomics, machine safety, chemical management, environmental compliance, and sustainability initiatives.
- Lead incident prevention, investigation, corrective actions, and injury management programs in accordance with OSHA, HSA, and TE requirements.
- Manage site environmental compliance activities, including hazardous materials and waste, air and water permits, sustainability initiatives, energy reduction programs, and regulatory reporting.
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure site readiness and compliance with evolving environmental and safety requirements.
- Partner with production, maintenance, quality, engineering, procurement, and other functional leaders to integrate EHS&S requirements into daily operations and business decisions.
- Prepare and communicate EHS&S metrics, reports, and compliance status updates for site leadership, corporate teams, regulatory agencies, and external stakeholders.
- Lead EHS&S audits, inspections, and site visits, serving as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, customers, and third-party auditors.
- Develop and manage the EHS&S budget and lead site-level EHS&S projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Align site environmental, safety, and sustainability programs with business unit, segment, and enterprise strategies.
What your background should look like
Qualifications
- Degree in EHS or related field.
- 7+ years’ experience in a manufacturing business.
- Defense industry (ITAR) or other similar regulated manufacturing industry experience preferred, but not required.
- Deep understanding of Environmental regulations, particularly within the areas of hazardous waste and stormwater monitoring and reporting in the California SMARTS database and procedures.
Key Requirements
- Experience in hazardous waste management, stormwater, wastewater, air compliance, chemical management reporting,SWPPP plan coordination, SPCC plan coordination and EPCRA reporting and emergency response coordination.
- Thorough knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety legislation and experience in environment management systems.
- Experience working with regulators for scheduled and unscheduled site inspections.
- Excellent leadership, people skills and verbal/written communication skills.
- Previous experience in managing a team.
- Attention to detail and a result orientated approach.
- Computer skills, including proficiency in using common word processing software, excel, database applications, presentation software and email.

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $118,500 - $148,100 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
