Systems Architect (m/f/d) Imaging Solutions

Job Overview


TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.


A Systems Architect (m/f/d) Imaging Solutions responsible for the evaluation and specification of existing and future vehicle system architectures including subsystems and components for imaging based ADAS solutions in the ICT market segment driven by a deep understanding of market dynamics and customer requirements based on  a broad  technical expertise and specific application know-how. 


What we need you to do?


  • Recognize the specific trends and drivers for imaging solutions in the market segment, evaluate existing and future vehicle architectures and application requirements to specify and drive innovative system solutions to support customer’s product and technology roadmaps and to differentiate from competitors by creating an extraordinary customer experience 
  • Create and use deep market insight to build a bottom-up technology platform including all core technologies, Software, Electronics, Optics and Interface  Components (connectors, harnesses…) to enable market specific application solutions within short time to market supporting global market trends and market specific vehicle system concepts
  • Successfully combine advanced camera hardware solutions with sophisticated software including functional safety requirements, image processing capabilities, power budgets, optical and mechanical design requirements, and target costing
  • Conduct on-site product integration, testing and service support 
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team in an agile business environment to identify, specify and realize unique products and solutions within competitive time and cost 

What your background should look like:


  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or other equivalent technical discipline
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of related market or engineering experience 
  • Deep understanding (theoretical and practical) of all functions, technologies, components, engineering and production methods as well as product qualification requirements which are needed for imaging based ADAS solutions
  • Specific experience in camera design (specification, optics, image sensors, interfaces, mechanics, manufacturing, assembly and qualification processes)
  • Knowledge in simulation, evaluation and optimization of optical systems regarding product performance and production efficiency evaluating of results and optimization 
  • Experience in the development of advanced image processing algorithms
  • Familiar with image quality metrics, evaluation methodologies, and industry standards
  • Capability to perform detailed system evaluation and trade-off analyses to determine the appropriate solution
  • Strategic thinking combined with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with permanent focus on customer and application requirements
  • Capability to get in touch and communicate with technical experts and decision makers of customers and strategic partners
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to new situations in a rapidly changing environment
  • Effectively work across all levels of the organization and with people of diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in German and English
  • Energetic and highly motivated
  • Willingness to travel
