Process Engineer Calibration and Test (f/m/d)

Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.

Your Tasks:

You are the process technology expert for Pressure Sensor adjustment, calibration and test from the start of the project to volume production.
You will be instrumental in creating the calibration and testing roadmap to drive the building of the process technology platform by harmonizing and standardizing the own best-practice processes within the Global Pressure Product Line.
You perform process technology benchmarks and state-of-the-art analysis in your subject area.
You will prepare feasibility studies and implement automated test benches for the calibration of functional and engineering samples to achieve a high confidence level to meet customer requirements at an early project stage.
You derive product performance improvements from the characterization results and develop delightful features to achieve best-in-class performance.
You are familiar with the product behavior in the customer application over lifetime (sensor drift) to create a robust calibration concept jointly with the Product Development and Validation Engineering.
You will work with Product Development Engineering and IC suppliers to improve product features and will contribute Design-for-Test/Design-for-Manufacturing guidance and Lesson Learned experiences.
You will create the test and inspection specifications for the series equipment and make supplier selection in collaboration with the regional Manufacturing Engineering.
You will support existing test systems and handle change requests for serial calibration and test equipment.
You continuously define improvements and optimizations for your responsible process technologies in terms of product performance, process robustness and cost efficiency.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, mathematics, physics or a comparable education
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of professional experience in the development of complex and fully automated production test systems
  • Familiar with high volume calibration concepts and test solutions for pressure sensors
  • Experience in characterization, design or manufacturing of pressure sensor an advantage
  • Familiar with typical sensor interface in automotive and ICT environment and related test methods
  • Deep understanding of the architecture and mathematics of a Sensor Signal Conditioner (ASSP/ASIC)
  • Experience in mechanics as well as hardware and software development
  • Strong programming, measurement and test engineering skills
  • Knowledge of test programming in LabView, Python or similar
  • Strong knowledge in automated data monitoring, recording, statistical analysis and interpretation of meaning (e.g. Diadem, Minitab)
  • Six Sigma certification is a plus
  • Familiar with automotive customer requirements, DFMEA/PFMEA, documenting and presenting work results
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills are required
  • Ability to proactively drive projects with minimal guidance or supervision
  • Open-minded to working in an international environment and communicating globally
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English and German
  • Energetic and highly motivated
  • Willingness to travel 10 to 25%
