Job Overview

The Manager Freight & Logistics of the Business Unit Industrial is responsible for optimizing the Freight and Logistics Strategies & Processes in order to achieve specific BU targets, including but not limited to: Freight & Logistics Service Levels, Transport Lead Times, Freight & Logistics Cost Reduction.

The Manager Freight & Logistics is part of the Central Supply Chain team and will closely collaborate with relevant BU stakeholders, including Plant Supply Chain managers, Supply Chain Analysts, as well as the Planning, Customer Care and Global Logistics Departments (GLOG).

This position is based out of Bydgoszcz (Poland). The Manager Freight & Logistics will report to the Director Supply Chain BU IND. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Develop and implement BU IND Freight & Logistics optimization strategies in collaboration with BU and Industrial Segment stakeholders;
• Analyze, develop and lead implementation of logistics projects to improve service levels and/or reduce costs;
• Assist in the development and management of annual Freight and Logistics budget;
• Support management reporting and analysis of Freight and Logistics costs;
• Collaborate with IND business stakeholders and TE’s Global Logistics Services shared service organization (GLOG) to optimize freight and logistics processes;
• Collaborate with GLOG to drive improvements on Freight Audit & Pay (FAP) processes;
• Contribute to the development and implementation of the IND global DC footprint strategy;
• Support logistic integration of Mergers & Acquisitions;
• Work on ad hoc projects.

What your background should look like:

• Bachelor degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or equivalent;
• 5+ years of experience in a Logistics role in an international commercial company and working with 3rd Party Logistics Providers;
• Affinity with warehouse management systems and good knowledge of ERP systems (SAP);
• Good understanding of cross-functional processes and matrix organization;
• Strong relation management and (English) communication skills;
• Analytical thinker with the ability to execute on priorities;
• Project leader skills and natural ability to influence people;
• Ability to work deadlines and challenging targets;
• Strong business acumen and good commercial understanding;
• Good MS office knowledge and strong Excel skills to manipulate data;
• Fluent in English;
• Knowledge and experience of Global Trade Compliance processes is an advantage.
