Head of Global Product Management

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Product Management Teams manage all aspects of a product, from driving new product development to manufacturing to marketing. They are responsible for overall product strategy, business leadership and capacity plans to meet sales and profit targets. S/he manages all aspects of a global product line or portfolio, from driving new product development to manufacturing to marketing and sales. Runs the portfolio as a “mini” GM. Responsible for overall product strategy, business leadership and capacity plans to meet sales and gross (or standard) margin targets
The Head of Global Product management for General Purpose Relay will be accountable for strategy development and product portfolio management within the Relay/PSF sub-business unit of Industrial Business Unit. S/he will bring a growth-oriented and entrepreneurial mind-set, excellent commercial acumen and leadership experience, and a hands-on leadership style into the team. The role will appeal to those with aspirations for further personal and career growth as the company seeks to enhance the overall bench-strength for succession for the role of Director of Product Management and Commercial team of the Industrial business unit. The successful candidate will be part of the Product Management team and will report to the Director of Product Management and Commercial strategy of Industrial Relays/PSF division. The role will be based in Europe.

RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Own and ensure financial execution for the product-line P&L including bookings, billings, gross margin, and operational expenses needed to support product-line growth
•    Refine and deliver 3-year-product strategy for the product category
•    Lead strategy implementation thru solution creation and business plan execution
•    Manage product line, including launching/commercializing NPI, driving EOL, pricing, and cost and all other mix management levers to optimize product line portfolio
•    Partner with the Regional Product Manager leaders to strengthen the commercial cadence and execution to accelerate top-line growth 
•    Be the leader for the product line and partner across functions including sales, engineering, operations and supply chain for successful strategy execution and tactical execution
•    Drive the solution architecture and segment specific requirements
•    Accountable for S&OP, including forecast accuracy 
•    Develop market segment intelligence leading to tailored market segment Value Prop
•    Manages and develops a team of global product managers
•    Develop relationships with the major Direct customers and key Distribution partners for the product line 

What your background should look like:

Qualifications, Experiences & Knowledge: 
•    College Degree in engineering, business or similar
•    Advanced degree (MBA) or relevant Product P&L management experience is must
•    8+ years of in one of the business leadership roles such as Product management, Strategic Marketing management or similar.
•    Experience in industrial market, lighting and control systems is a bonus


Competencies: 
•    Strong strategic, commercial, and marketing skills, including ability to derive insights from VOC 
•    Familiarity and experience leveraging a commercial tool kit, VOC, Market Segmentation, Strategic Pricing, Messaging etc. 
•    A track record of developing business strategies and driving top and bottom-line financial results.
•    Proven ability to build strong partnerships with customers and distributors
•    Comprehensive understanding of market mega trends and technology innovation
•    The ability to articulate a vision and strategy in a way that inspires and motivates a team and focuses their energy on achieving business goals.
•    Experience influencing others and developing capabilities in teams.
•    Demonstrated evidence of success in both direct line leadership and highly matrixed global environment.
•    Strong analytical, planning, forecasting and budgeting/financial skills
•    Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
•    The ability to manage multiple, complex priorities within demanding timeframes.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $xxx – xxx (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
