Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Traffic Administration Teams are responsible for the coordination and consolidation of domestic and international systems to support shipments. They ensure lowest cost transportation is used by analyzing company and customer needs, researching transportation methods, and auditing carrier costs and performance. They also interpret laws, rules, and regulations regarding shipping and prepares applications for import/export control certifications and licenses.

The Transportation Specialist EMEA is a corporate function and its main objective is to support the transportation operations of internal customers, ie. TE Connectivity’s Business Units.

In addition, he/she is a key contact to the Business Units for projects and improvement opportunities in the European logistics network.

The EMEA region ships material out of +30 shipping sites using all modes of transport, i.e. ocean (FCL, LCL), air, road (LTL, FTL, milk runs), rail, small parcel and premium freight services (same day, OBC’s etc.).

On the inbound side the EMEA region receives goods globally and regionally from external vendors and other TE Connectivity sites.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Required duties/responsibilities

  • Provide innovative logistics solutions and support transportation projects of internal customers and with cross-functional teams to find and implement efficiencies and cost savings within Transportation.
  • Escalation point for day to day logistics operations issues.
  • Build sustainable relationships and trust with vendors and internal customers through open, proactive communication.
  • Challenge the status quo and drive and assist in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities and customer satisfaction opportunities to deliver superior service.
  • Work with Logistics Analysis and Control Tower team in the evaluation of transportation KPIs.
  • Involved in the development of routing guides.
  • Support freight billing dispute resolution.
  • Build a strong working relationship with TE’s LSP’s and internal customers.
  • Support procurement exercises by providing operational market intelligence and benchmarking.
  • Assist in education of logistics procedures and requirements for sites and carriers.
  • Develop full understanding of TE’s internal customers' logistics and transportation needs and take actions to ensure that such needs are met.

 

Education and Experience preferred

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent degree, preferably in logistics or related field.
  • 7 years working experience in multinational companies in logistics/supply chain functions.
  • Competency across a broad range of operational areas including transportation, warehousing, scheduling, dispatching; and knowledge of European transportation regulations and customs brokerage processes etc. is an asset.
  • Understands domestic and international shipping requirements. All modes.
  • Fluent written and spoken German and English

 

Computer / Technical Skills

  • Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Strong analytical abilities, and high proficiency creating and managing advanced models using Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
  • Good knowledge of SAP or a similar ERP-system.
