Job Overview
  • Further Development and application of the Customs internal control system
  • Support of Customs and Foreign Trade audits including assessment of audits reports and derivation of measures
  • Independent creation of work and organizational instructions/procedures
  • Takeover of projects in the customs and foreign trade area
  • Application and implementation of suitable customs procedures for a wide range of business constellations:
    • Especially: Apprved Exporter, authorized Exporter, entry in declarants records
  • Processing of inquiries from our customs agent and derivation of improvement measures
  • Control and release of Duty, Vat and brokerage service invoices
  • Einreihung von Waren in den Zolltarif
  • Einführung, Durchführung und Weiterentwicklung ordnungsgemäßer Wareneinreihungs und Klassifizierungsprozesse
  • Pflege der Außenhandelsstammdaten im Warenwirtschaftssystem
  • Kennzeichnung von Warengruppen sowie die Analyse bestehende Warengruppen und deren Einreihung
  • Beantragung und Verwaltung von verbindlichen Zolltarifauskünften
  • Classification of goods into the harmonized tariff system
  • Implementation, Processing and enhancement of HTS classification and Export Control classification
  • Foreign trade master data maintenance in the ERP System
  • Requesting and administration of binding tariff information
What your background should look like:
  • Several years of experience in the operative handling of imports and exports
  • Further training in customs and foreign trade, e.g. customs declarant, customs specialist.
  • Initial experience in the supervision of customs and foreign trade audits.
  • Sound knowledge of customs law (especially customs procedures and customs valuation)
  • Experience in setting up and applying an internal control system
  • Solid understanding of IT systems such as SAP and BI applications
  • Very safe handling of MS Office applications (especially Excel incl. Power Pivot and Access) Experience with Power BI is another advantage
  • Analytical and process-oriented ability to think, independent and structured way of working as well as a pronounced ability to work in a team
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English

As an ideal candidate for this position, you are not only familiar with the operational aspects, but are also familiar with the legal evaluation of these operations and are determined to optimise customs processes, thus ensuring the internal and external application of best practice.
