We are currently looking for an energetic Business Development Specialist to join our Connected Living Solutions (CLS) organization in the Americas. He/she will help to drive our growth by attracting new clients and developing business strategies that our aligned to the CLS Business Unit AFGs (Application Focus Growth) with specific focus around the applications aligned to HVAC & Heat Pumps, and Lighting.

About The Role:

The successful applicant will be resourceful, organized, and motivated to increase sales, enhance the company's reputation, and look for new and creative ways to penetrate the identified AFG markets and promote TE Appliance products. A background in business development, sales, product management, or strategic marketing is strongly desirable, together with experience in Channel/Distribution.

 

The Business Development Specialist will build and nurture strong relationships with the identified prospective customers in the AFG target markets. He/she will support the CLS BU cross functional teams to find new business and opportunities, gather Voice of Customer (VOC) intelligence that will be utilized to develop NPI and drive future sales, and get a better understanding of our competitors in those markets to help identify any gaps in our product portfolios.

 

He/she will work with and report directly to the AMER Channel Field Engineering Manager.

Job Requirements

  • Understand the capabilities of TE products and technologies and align them with the selected AFG application requirements.
  • Engage with customers (existing, prospect, new) in the identified AFG markets.
  • Cultivating strong relationships with new customers by building strong relationships with key customer engineering contacts and decision makers
  • Drive Pipeline (new project creation) and conversion (win opportunities) through product and technical knowledge
  • Identify and understand current and future customer needs and opportunities to introduce and sell products and solutions to the customer. Promote TE CLS technologies and product portfolio with the customer and drive projects.
  • Identify and understand current and future customer needs and translate into new product requirements.
  • Use VOC tools to understand the accounts’ technology, strategic direction, and electronic connectivity needs. Communicate these needs to internal TE Connectivity teams.
  • Maintaining client information and opportunity pipeline in the CRM database.  

 

Key Goals & Objectives/Measurements:

  • Customer penetration within the targeted AFG markets
  • CLS BU product indirect (POS) revenue growth within the targeted AFG markets.
  • Conversion of potential indirect (POS) sales opportunities for Appliance BU products within the targeted AFG markets.
  • Support the Marketing strategic initiatives with the Expansion of Appliance BU products in adjacent markets and targeted AFGs.

What your background should look like

  • B.S. in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or B.A./B.B.A. with a focus in General Business, Management or Marketing.
  • Up to 3-5 (or 5-7) years of sales experience preferably selling engineered electronic/electrical products.
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Proven leadership experience, problem solving abilities and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral/written communication and influencing skills.
  • Must have the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to multitask and work/train in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be willing and able to travel approximately 75% of the time.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $104,400-130,500 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
