Position Overview
TE Connectivity is seeking a MGR II MFG & PROCESS DVL ENGINEERING for Data & Device BU with location in Dongguan, CN. The MPDE Manager will lead a team of process development and automation engineers tasked with developing assembly processes for power cable assemblies and coordinating with the Dongguan manufacturing engineering team on the transition to mass production.
Job Requirements
- Managing overall activities related to the manufacturing workflow, including the production plan, manual processing, machine operation, product inspection, and quality control; ensuring manufacturing performance and quality goals are met.
- Analyzing data and diagrams derived from manufacturing processes; summarizing errors and failures and providing appropriate solutions.
- Designing and delivering plans for the procurement and coordination of materials and other resources, depending on production requirements.
- Overseeing staffing and training for team players from senior technicians to the first-line manager, in specific functions

Responsibilities:
1. Allocate and balance the allocation of work across direct reports; review and provide timely performance feedback to direct reports; mentor, develop and motivate them; help resolve people/functional issues in the team to achieve targeted performance and retain key talent.
• Lead a team of engineers who will:
o Develop power cable assembly manufacturing process in accordance with LEANPD product development.
o Drive for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods.
o Strive to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control.
o Support Product Development in the optimization designs (DFM) and piece parts for manufacturability; realizes sample tooling, product samples and prototypes.
o Design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE Data and Devices quality and production standards.
o Support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability.
• Act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface.
• Maintain communication with project management team to understand current and future strategic business needs
• Prioritize and time manage a portfolio of projects/work efforts based on criticality and business need
• Provide readouts to Director and VP level cross function management as necessary
• Work with Dongguan operations team to assign resources necessary for the successful execution of new product development
• Facilitate and coordinate cross-function communication across globally matrixed organization
What your background should look like
Generally requires Bachelors degree in appropriate field with 12 or more years of experience; or Masters degree with 10 or more years of experience; or PhD level with 6 or more years of experience; or local equivalen
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor or above degree with mechanical/electric related majors;
2. At least 5 years related experience managerial level in multinational manufacturing site;
3. Familiar with Lean, Six Sigma. etc. industrial methods/tools;
4. With 2 years or above work experience in cable assembly industry is preferred;
5. Fluent in English and good presentation skills;
6. Familiar with MS software;
7. Familiar with industrial specification (i.e. IPC 620)
