QUALITY & RELIABILITY ENGINEER

Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Quality and Reliability Engineering Teams analyze the ability of product and production systems to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors. They design, recommend revisions and install quality control systems, develop and document analytical methods for establishing reliability of products and their components and conduct analysis on relative reliability with regards to cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, and availability of materials and equipment. Out teams develop, implement and monitor company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations and recommend corrective actions if necessary. They are responsible for policies and practices to comply with applicable government regulations and industry requirements related to product environmental compliance, the implementation and management of technical and testing standards and specifications, quality control and reliability programs governing materials, product and processes, resulting in the optimization of material and labor, as well as failure analysis, root cause, corrective action and customer communication.

 

Key responsibilities 
•    Supplier Quality Coordination, Audits and Evaluation
•    Monitor and contribute the quality improvement of suppliers 
•    Ensure that supplier and/or customer (both internal and external) queries are being addressed 
•    Route/ assign and follow up root cause (RC) analysis and corrective actions (CA) with problem solving tools (Ishikawa, 5 Why, 8D) 
•    Organization of containment actions and customer assistance
•    Plan, establish and coordinate test and inspection procedure, conduct process capability studies and prepare statistical quality control data  
•    Close cooperation with internal departments (purchasing, engineering, field service, etc.)  
•    Trend and report data related to quality system documentation processes 
•    Maintain current knowledge of relevant new technologies, materials, equipment, and processes as well as to apply knowledge to continually enhance TE capabilities 
•    Continuous Improvement Projects 
•    Introduce and maintain quality documentation (SAP) 
 

What your background should look like:

 

Qualifications:
•    Bachelor or higher degree in technical Engineering or Science degree
•    Minimum work experience of 2 to 3 years (in automotive environment desirable)

 

Skills:
•    A very strong understanding of business operations and Quality Engineering role in a manufacturing environment
•    Fluent German (minimum C1 level) and English skills – both written and spoken 
•    Experience with supplier tasks will be highly appreciated, as this will be the primary focus of this position.
•    Experience with supplier audits and knowledge of Six Sigma 
•    Knowledge/ experience with ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 
•    Excellent communications skills 
•    International mindset and flexibility to work within a global organization  
•    Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and task-focused environment 
•    Proactive, analytical, and pragmatic approach to problem solving
•    Experience with dealing with customers (internal & external) will be a plus
