Product Management & Commercial Finance Manager

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Finance Teams are responsible for economic research, analysis of profit-and-loss income statements and preparation of reports on findings to make recommendations to management. They generate forecasts and analyze trends in sales, finance and other areas of business. The Finance Teams also create financial models of "what if" scenarios to help future business planning decisions. The Application Tooling Business Unit is currency seeking a global Manager of Product Management & Commercial Finance. This role will serve as business partner to the Director of Product Management and product management team as well as the Director of Sales. The individuals in this position is expected to provide accurate, insightful, and timely financial analysis while driving profitable growth and monitoring of key performance indicators.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and developing a small global team
  • Ensure Sales and Product Management teams make decisions that drive profitable growth and adhere to TE’s financial policies and controls
  • Improve Sales and Product Management team performance through enhanced analysis, reporting, key performance indicator tracking, and follow up on critical items to ensure the execution of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial targets
  • Evaluate PAC projects (New Product Development), capital investments, product extensions, product pricing and rebate agreements, and other business decision support
  • Support the Strategic Plan process and long term P&L modelling for new products, annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and monthly risk and opportunities; Evaluate long-term impact of portfolio/mix change driven by industry and competitive trends; Develop competitive and scenario analyses utilizing external resources as well as internal product, customer, and market based P&L’s
  • Drive financial intelligence and rigor across Finance and other non-Finance functions; Drive accountability, forecast accuracy and GAAP/Ethics compliance
  • Driving the organizational talent agenda through development, diversity, retention, and recruitment efforts; Continuously striving to create a world class finance/accounting organization that collaborates within the Business Unit and across the Segment
  • Support Financial Service Center AR collection efforts and drive improvement
  • Analysis of actual results, forecasts, and budget for all Engineering, Selling and G&A Expenses

What your background should look like:

  • Prior leadership experience or experience managing an international and/or remote team; Prior experience working with a global, matrixed team
  • Broad Finance experience preferably in a manufacturing environment (combination of FP&A, operations, controlling, commercial)
  • Prior Commercial/PM Finance/Finance Business partner experience and managerial experience is a plus
  • Solid understanding of a full P&L and cashflow preferably in a manufacturing environment, product costing/variance analysis and pricing methodologies
  • Understanding of new projects and capital investments utilizing valuation tools such as DCF, IRR, NPV, payback, etc.
  • Understanding of core TE business and finance processes including S&OP, PAC, budgeting, and forecast processes
  • Knowledge of product cost calculations, customer and product profitability, and long-term financial returns of a business decision
  • Understanding of TE’s markets, products, and manufacturing processes
