Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Logistics Demand Management Teams develop, integrate and provide short-term accounts or brand specific forecasts for internal operations which include replenishment data, customer data, sales promotion information, marketing plans and new distribution/product deletions. They are responsible for facilitating, managing and executing strategic directions related to plant performance, customer demand agreements, supply chain improvements, revenue forecasting and overall improvement in delivery metrics globally. They assist in the improvement of demand system forecasting accuracy for customers. The Demand Management Teams maintain and manage product history, forecasts and promotional demand. They analyze internal demand stream information, and categorizes according to demand patterns. They also may input sales/marketing intelligence for use in forecast systems, working with sales organization(s), national sales accounts, marketing, and related forecasting and planning groups.

The Demand Analyst is responsible for all forecasting activities associated with developing, maintaining and improving a rolling 18-month operational forecast for their assigned GPL’s, Segments and Regions.  The Demand Analyst creates and maintains forecast models for their products using quantitative and qualitative methods to incorporate sales trends, promotional plans, new product launches and business intelligence from sales, product management, and other sources.  This position will work closely with sales, product management and operations to develop a more robust demand plan to improve forecast accuracy, order fulfillment, reduce excess, slow moving and obsolete inventory and support current and future supply chain initiatives.


  • Develop demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of the demand planning function
  • Review historical sales trends, prepare forecast data, evaluate statistical forecast models, and gauge forecast results
  • Collaborate with sales and product management to research and understand demand forecast drivers to ensure that current and accurate information is used for the demand forecasts
  • Research and reconcile forecast variances and refine the forecast models to reflect updated sales and product management assumptions
  • Develop and present forecast accuracy and performance reports to identify problems and opportunities and make recommendations for improvements to the demand plan
  • Maintain and enhance the demand planning systems as the primary forecasting system tool
  • Provide input to the Demand Manager to support developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs
  • Review resolve and clear forecasting system exception messages daily
  • Strive to consistently improve monthly forecast accuracy measures at different levels of aggregation
  • Minimize contributing to slow moving and obsolete FG inventory through diligent and constant attention to changing business dynamics that impact forecasts and forecast accuracy


  • BA/BS college degree required
  • 3-5 years of experience in demand planning, operations, or supply planning fields
  • Excellent English communication (oral and written)
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, Access, and Business Objects
  • Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts. Knowledge of SAP/APO, Manugistics, or Oracle Demand Planning or other software related to demand planning is preferred
  • This position requires strong analytical, organizational, decision making, and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills are essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of business affecting the forecast process
  • Ability to work independently to manage multiple projects and initiatives to meet established timelines
  • Demonstrate initiative and work in a collaborative team environment to address complex issues
