Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Quality and Reliability Engineering Teams analyze the ability of product and production systems to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors. They design, recommend revisions and install quality control systems, develop and document analytical methods for establishing reliability of products and their components and conduct analysis on relative reliability with regards to cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, and availability of materials and equipment. Out teams develop, implement and monitor company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations and recommend corrective actions if necessary. They are responsible for policies and practices to comply with applicable government regulations and industry requirements related to product environmental compliance, the implementation and management of technical and testing standards and specifications, quality control and reliability programs governing materials, product and processes, resulting in the optimization of material and labor, as well as failure analysis, root cause, corrective action and customer communication.



  • Actively participate in the development of Process and Design FMEAs, as well as design reviews for the assigned product and related tooling.
  • Generate and/or champion 8 Ds for the prototype process, including 8 Ds for problem solving, test failures, and prototype failures.
  • Track and report First Time Capability for prototype builds.
  • Facilitate prototype dimensional layouts and prepare prototype PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and/or PSW (Part Submission Warrant) submissions.
  • Initiate dimensional layouts on production piece parts to qualify piece parts for production release.
  • In conjunction with the Team Leader, identify significant characteristics for all piece parts and track the quality level of preproduction piece part runs to ensure that the piece part tooling meets the capability goals for the product.
  • Work in conjunction with the team’s Process Engineer to ensure the manufacturing process is meeting the product’s defined quality level and that the processes meet capability levels identified for the product.
  • Lead the “line readiness” event activities as required by different OEMs such as Run at Rate, PSO, HVPT, QAV or PSP. This includes a compilation of documentation and evidence.
  • Maintain documentation required for Advance Quality Planning.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the site Quality Assurance Personnel to assist in resolving issues until the product successfully achieves its identified production yield and quality goals.

Your Profile

  • Bac +5  speciality Quality or Engineering degree
  • 3  to 5  years of experience in a similar position
  • Knowledge of the industrial environment
  • General knowledge of mechanics (plan reading, assembly principles, ...)
  • General knowledge of electricity
  • General knowledge of electronics (ESD constraints, ...)

What your background should look like:

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the departmental, company, and corporate procedures and systems, i.e., ISO9000, ISO9001, TS16949, PPAP, FMEA, APQP, GDT, ISO14001.
  • Good problem identification and problem-solving abilities. Able to organise and prioritise the completion of assigned tasks. Leads others in root cause analysis.
  • Must be able to work independently on quality tasks and responsibilities while being integral to a product development team. Operates with substantial latitude without review by superiors.
  • Proven track record of being able to work on multiple programs concurrently while maintaining timely completion of defined project tasks.
