Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Industrial Electrical Sub Vertical is a global entity in connectivity products for the Industrial market. The business is organized into 3 product lines: Identifications, terminals & splices, and Terminal Blocks. The business serves several large OEMs through a direct sales force as well as more than a thousand customers through the distribution channel existing channel Electronic/ new EWS Electrical Wholesale channel mainly focuses on electrical panel builders. With ~$200M, a significant presence in key markets across the globe, a  broad product portfolio, and several reputed brands (Raychem, Entrelec, AMP …),

The PMO leader will lead the Global Project Management Organization (PMO) for the IEL business. He will build an industry-leading project management team and create the right structure, processes, and governance that enhance the execution capability of the organization in NPI (Adv, NPD, sustaining) projects. The GPL will lead a team of ~6 project managers spread across the world.

In addition, the leader will have responsibility for NPI Engineering governance for the sub-vertical. In this role, the GPL will partner with the ProductManagementt and the Engineering Managers to identify and deploy industry and TE best practices to align engineering and technology roadmaps with business strategy and product roadmaps.

The role will report to the Sr Eng Mgr of the Electrical business with a dotted line to the General Manager of the Electrical business.


  • Establish the Global Project Management Office and lead a global team of project managers responsible for leading the new product development, major sustaining, and advanced development projects.
  • Ensure best project management practices are followed to successfully deliver new product launches for all product families.
  • Drive project manager performance through project leadership training, one on one coaching, and oversight of project execution.
  • Lead improvement of the Engineering Productivity Key Performance Indicator, defined as meeting an on time commitment to planned Phase gate dates.
  • Ensure productivity by fostering cross team communication, empowerment, and accountability. Help teams manage and resolve conflicts.
  • Maintain effective communication with senior management to keep them aware of critical issues confronting organizational wide projects and of the action plans for addressing those issues.
  • Partner with the Product Management and Engineering team to map the competency needs and develop and deploy an effective Build  Borrow  Buy strategy to position the business for success
  • Improvement of the on time performance for project committed gate dates
  • Develop and refresh the Product and Manufacturing platforming plan of record. Identify roadblocks to executing the plan and develop mitigation actions
  • Build a strong relationship with the Electrical management team.

What your background should look like:

  • 10 years of seniority,
  • BS Degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences;
  • A Master's or MBA from an accredited university is preferred.
  • Professional Certifications, including PMP or PgMP, are required, and ACP is a plus.
  • Experience with leading a Project Management team and strong portfolio management experience
  • Substantial experience in managing highly visible and large-scale projects as well as managing teams that have also worked in this type of large-scale complex and high matrixed environment.
  • Substantial experience with varied product development lifecycle management processes such as Waterfall, Agile, and Lean.
  • Experience in software/firmware-enabled systems development will be a strong plus.
  • Have a strong drive, attention to detail, a collaborative work style, and a passion for identifying and implementing sustainable solutions.
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic global environment with multiple changing priorities.
  • Proficient in quality management systems, lean principles, quality engineering practices and principles,
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, 
  • Strong business acumen relative to project business case development and market analysis, capital management, P&L, financial statement analysis, and department budget management
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite as well as project management software programs.
