Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and driven Channel Field Application Engineer (m/f/d) with a strong Business Development focus to join our Performance Materials (PFM) business unit in Europe. In this role, you will serve as a PFM product champion, leading initiatives that accelerate growth across the region.
You will work closely with our Automotive Channel (Distribution) Team and our network of partner Distributors, who together reach a broad and diverse customer base. Your technical expertise, commercial insight, and ability to build strong relationships will be critical in identifying new opportunities, influencing demand, and supporting distributors as they promote PFM solutions in the market.
The Performance Materials business unit—part of our Automotive segment—specializes in advanced material‑science‑based solutions. Our portfolio includes Heat Shrink Tubing (HST), liquid silicone sealing technologies, and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) shielding materials.
This position can be remotely based anywhere in Europe.
Job Requirements
- Understand PFM technologies and capabilities, and align them with targeted market and application requirements
- Engage with the TE Automotive Channel team and Channel partners to identify existing, prospective, and new customers within the focused markets and applications
- Cultivate strong relationships with the Automotive Channel team, Channel partners, and customers by building trust with key contacts and decision makers
- Drive pipeline creation and opportunity conversion by applying strong product, application, and technical knowledge to influence design‑ins and secure project wins
- Identify current and emerging customer needs, presenting relevant PFM products and solutions to drive project development and secure new design‑ins
- Translate customer needs and market insights into clear requirements that support New Product Introduction (NPI) and product portfolio development
- Leverage Voice of Customer (VOC) tools to understand customer technology trends, strategic direction, and connectivity requirements, and communicate these insights to internal TE teams
- Maintain accurate customer information and sales pipeline data within the CRM system to ensure visibility, forecasting accuracy, and effective opportunity management
Key Goals & Objectives/Measurements:
- Enable Channel partner growth and capability by supporting the Automotive Channel team in improving Channel partner understanding, promotion, and design‑in of PFM Business Unit products across both new and existing distribution partners
- Drive indirect (POS) revenue growth for the PFM Business Unit by increasing sales through Channel partners across existing, prospective, and newly acquired customers
- Increase customer reach through Channel by expanding the number of customers actively engaging with and purchasing PFM products via distribution
- Convert indirect (POS) opportunities by identifying, influencing, and closing new sales opportunities for PFM Business Unit products through Channel partners
- Support marketing and strategic initiatives by driving the expansion of PFM products into adjacent markets and targeted applications, in alignment with the Business Unit’s long‑term growth strategy
What your background should look like
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field; alternatively, a B.A./B.B.A. with a concentration in Business, Management, or Marketing
- A minimum of 3–5 years of sales experience, with preference given to candidates possessing 5–7 years, particularly in selling engineered electronics, electrical solutions, or materials‑science products
- Background with material‑science–based solutions—such as heat‑shrink tubing, liquid sealing technologies, or EMI‑shielding materials—is highly advantageous
- Experience working with customers or applications in the automotive sector is a plus
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and relationship‑building skills
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders effectively
- Proven ability to operate independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable collaborating within cross‑functional teams to achieve business objectives
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively—approximately 50% to 75% of the time
