Job Overview
Develop and implement multi-year strategies for Global Packaging (AMER Region) that aligns with BU Objectives and Directives.
Manage and drive suppliers to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. Align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners.
Execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous
improvement for Global Packaging - collaborate across all Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage
Responsibilities and authority:
-Development of commodity strategy aligned with Business Unit expectations
-Ongoing supplier evaluation and continuous improvement – Drive BU commodity leads to supply base progress and goals
-Assure execution of competitive bids, negotiations, contracting processes, and/or technical continuous improvement ideas for assigned commodities or services through alignment with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management, supplier development, and functional owners. Contribute to top- and bottom-line growth for TE BU product lines
-Drive a localization strategy, complementing the goals of the regional BU strategy
-Strategic alignment with operational organizations and driving a supply base roadmap
-Drive supply chain optimization strategies such as VMI, consignment, LT reduction, MOQ improvement, and others
-Design and promote regional/global commodity strategies in collaboration with Business Unit objectives to enhance/optimize performance
-Benchmarking analysis to support long-term agreements and leverage negotiations
-Support manufacturing operations in AMER plants
-Provide direction according to established policies and management guidance; administer company policies that directly affect operations. Recommend policy changes
-Has full authority for personnel decisions, e.g., hiring, performance, or disciplinary actions
Job Requirements
-Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering
-MBA (desired)
-5+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Engineering
-Experience in the Packaging Commodity is a must.
-Proven experience in management and leadership skills
-High-level expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project/product lifecycle management)
-Extensive experience working with multicultural and cross-disciplinary groups
-Proficient in SAP
-Strong communication skills (bilingual – English and Spanish)
-Strong communication and presentation skills
-Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and political savvy to drive project teams
-Excellent project management skills
