Director Business Operations (CRO)

Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Engineering Project Management Teams manage cross functional engineering projects. They work with Product Management, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and other functions across TE to assure projects meet financial, schedule and customer expectations. They are responsible for defining and creating project schedules, portfolio management, communication and execution of programs, identifying resource constraints and working with management for resolution, while adhering to LeanPD processes.

Role Summary

The Director of Operations plans and directs all aspects of the clinical research organization (CRO) activities. This position ensures all clinical projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the organization's established policies and objectives. This position demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures and relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The Director of Clinical Operations performs a variety of tasks and leads and directs the work of others.

 

Responsibilities:

Build and execute an operational strategy to deliver a superior client experience while creating capacity for business and people growth, development, continuous improvement, and project compliance.

Work collaboratively with internal teams and leadership in the development or execution of the CRO operational objectives

Analyze, identify and resolve resource limitations to support growth objectives.

Develop and implement short term and long-term goals for improvement to the clinical research procedures and processes.

Develop programs to improve the clinical research culture and promote a healthy fun work environment.

Maintain productive work environment by establishing, maintaining and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with all appliable regulations.

Work with Director of Engineering Operations to identify, implement and harmonize best practices across the entire organization.

Oversight of the department staff performance appraisal and staff career advancement

Development and control of department budget

Lead process improvement initiatives and implementation of new practices

Management, hiring and dismissal of Clinical Operations staff

Development and implementation of staff training programs

Mentoring and coaching of department staff

Development and implementation of quality controls within the department

Preparation for, and participation in systems audits, CAPA investigation and Risk Review Meetings

What your background should look like:

Masters or Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of Operations Management experience.

Operational leadership experience within a CRO or other similar service

Must have experience creating, developing, and leading operational teams, resource planning, and establishing, maintaining and achieving financial budgets.

Must have working knowledge of ISO 13485. Ideal candidate will have knowledge of cGCP, ICH and FDA regulatory requirements for IVD products.

Must be able to influence change in the organization’s operational procedures.

Must maintain and effect company vision, values, and culture.
