R&D | PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

JOB OVERVIEW:

TE Connectivity's Product Development Team is focused on new product development. Product Development starts from the customer requests organized by S&M (opportunity champion) that formalize the customer requirements in a proper format that is then processed by the Project Core Team.

The Development Team manages the project deliverables such as timing, cost, performance and rising Intellectual Property protection claims when appropriate.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES:

• Analyze Voice of Customer (VOC) requirements and specifications within EMEA TE Engineering colleagues.
• Develop product design proposals using CAD tools at various stages of development: Concept, Design and Development.
• Apply design verification tools such as worst-case tolerance calculations and mechanical simulation,
• Develop technical proposals to be submitted to customers while respecting quality, cost and project deadlines.
• Define DV (design validation) and PV (product validation) test plans.
• Design prototype parts, CAD models and drawings. 
• Execute product design technical documents (models, drawings and specifications,) required for the launch of mass production tools.
• Follow-up of tests and validation/qualification of the product.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronic, Biomedical, or Electrotechnical engineering 
• Fluency in the Italian and English language 
• Fundamental Knowledge about Physics and Science product design in general
• 1-2 years of experience in product design
• Proficient with CAD software: CREO is preferred.
• Basic Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as stamping, injection, moulding and assembly
• Be motivated and able to work in a Team providing a solid contribution
• Be able to work in a very dynamic contest on vehicle electrification path in a multifunctional Team
• Be able to learn and apply new technologies and new process methodologies
• Driver license – Able to move by car in case service needs
• Available to travel in the EMEA region with a journey duration of two-three days for service and training needs
