Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing Engineering Teams are process leaders for stamping, molding or assembly related topics, ensuring the processes are running at optimum levels for quality and output. They are experts in mold tooling, die tooling, machining, and assembly techniques, possessing extensive knowledge of the associated manufacturing processes which may include the optimization and standardization of stamping / molding / assembly or other processes within the manufacturing environment. Manufacturing Engineering Teams enable the TE business unit plants to reach TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) requirements, roll out Centers of Excellence (COE), Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP’s) and advise plants on tool and machine duplications / corrections / improvements. They design and develop manufacturing process and automation platforms and apply them for the realization of new product developments as well as optimization of existing products already in production. The Teams also support Product Development in the selection and optimization of tools for piece part production and the selection of the most suitable manufacturing concepts relative to planned manufacturing quantities, quality requirements and manufacturing location. They act as interface between engineering and production to ensure manufacturability of new designs and smooth production ramp up as well as support the research & development teams to produce sample manufacturing equipment, product samples and prototypes.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
    Academic
o    Bachelor’s degree in Plastic or Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering or related field.
    Experience
o    5 years relevant working experience and manage team in a Manufacturing environment
o    Familiar with Pro-E (Creo), SolidWorks or AUTOCAD
o    Good knowledge in design & development of Injection molds
o    Good knowledge in tool making, tool-steel application / selection and heat treatment process 
o    Familiar with Molding automation process

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
o    Lead Engineering team.
o    Participate in oversea transfer program and ensure molding machines, mold tooling’s and processes are installed and qualified promptly for production.
o    Initiate tooling, process, and quality improvements to improve productivity.
o    Assist production and quality departments in analyses and troubleshooting to achieve good quality products.
o    Provide Engineering support to the production team during new product start-up and initial production.
o    Provide cost estimates for new of molding projects / tooling’s to the Project Management Team for project cost simulation.
o    Perform DFM (design for manufacturability) on new products, participate in the concept development of molds, automations and manual processes.
o    Standardize, improve tool design to achieve optimized lead-time, cost and safety requirement.
o    Carry out qualification tests on molds, machine, and manual process.
o    Ensure that all production machines, tooling, and equipment which are being procured, installed and qualified promptly for production.
o    Investigate identify root causes and establish Corrective, Preventive Plan with effectiveness
o    Participate in Process FMEA and Design FMEA
o    Create and maintain mold drawings, standard work for the production.
o    Train and guide Mold Technicians in Mold maintenance and setup.
o    Participate in 6-Sigma projects, Kaizen events and other Improvement activities.
o    Perform any other duties which may be needed by the company related to engineering and production matters. 
o    Assist production and quality departments in analyses and troubleshooting to achieving good quality products.
o    Initiate and implement programs such as continuous improvements, scrap reduction, cost reduction of raw material, cycle time reduction.
o    Provide Engineering support to the production team during new product start-up and initial production.
o    Perform DFM, provide concept development, cost estimates for new molding tools to the Project Management Team for project cost simulation.
o    Develop and optimize new product manufacturing process.
o    Follow TE specifications and comply with environmental management system’s procedures.
o    Follow TE WSH specifications and procedures and ensure that staffs comply.
o    Knowledge in Customer Specific Requirement.
