The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and development of a manufacturing site. This role has full accountability for operational excellence, financial performance, safety, quality, delivery, and talent development, while aligning local operations with global strategies and business objectives.
The Plant Manager leads cross‑functional teams across manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, quality, finance, and logistics, driving continuous improvement and translating customer and business requirements into robust manufacturing strategies and processes.
Your main tasks:
- Full site P&L responsibility, including cost, productivity, and profitability
- Lead and oversee all site operations, including manufacturing, production control, materials planning, maintenance, warehousing, logistics, quality, EH&S, and finance support
- Coordinate plant activities with functional leaders and value stream owners to ensure business objectives are achieved in a timely and cost‑effective manner
- Drive sales, inventory, and operations planning (SIOP) processes and establish supply, capacity, and resource plans to meet customer and business requirements
- Lead cross-functional coordination and collaboration within the plant.
- Build and sustain a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence, leveraging lean principles, structured problem solving, and performance management tools
- Lead transformation initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, delivery, and margins
- Ensure execution of site projects, transitions, or transfers according to agreed scope, timelines, and budgets
- Develop and execute the local operations strategy, aligned with global operations strategy and business growth objectives
- Create and maintain a comprehensive operational roadmap in collaboration with cross‑functional and global partners (e.g. Operational Excellence, Digital, Manufacturing Strategy, Procurement, Logistics, and Centers of Excellence)
- Champion safety, compliance, and quality standards, fostering a culture of accountability and engagement
Your ideal profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or Business; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum 10 years of leadership experience within a manufacturing or industrial operations environment
- Proven experience leading complex operations with end‑to‑end responsibility
- Strong track record in performance management, KPI development, and data‑driven decision making
- Solid knowledge of quality systems, lean manufacturing, and structured problem‑solving methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma)
- Demonstrated experience in operations transformation and project leadership
- Practical experience working with ERP systems (e.g. SAP)
- Strong leadership capability with the ability to drive change in a fast‑paced, international, matrix organization
- Fluent in German and English, written and spoken
