Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Engineering Project Management Teams manage cross functional engineering projects. They work with Product Management, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and other functions across TE to assure projects meet financial, schedule and customer expectations. They are responsible for defining and creating project schedules, portfolio management, communication and execution of programs, identifying resource constraints and working with management for resolution, while adhering to LeanPD processes.



• Understand the Operational needs of the organization considering Product Management, Operations, Materials, Supply Chain and Engineering.
• Take project from outline stage. Analyze and develop objectives and solutions to fit the Industrial Asia Pacific footprint requirements.
• Propose a cost-effective solution for the project and obtain buy-in/approval from the owning Industrial sub vertical.
• Reduce cost, lead-times and improve quality by consideration of the total picture and do what is best for TE Connectivity.
• Ensure that transfer projects meet the agreed footprint requirements.
• Report regularly on progress to plan.
• Work on cost reduction initiatives, in conjunction with Purchasing and / or Operations in TE and non-TE facilities.
• Actively seek the best-fit Products for Low Cost Country Manufacturing and drive the growth of the manufacturing facilities.
• To ensure detailed action plans for all transfer / other projects are created by allocated Project Engineer and correct procedures are followed.
• To ensure project plans are realistic and cost effective.
• To monitor and suggest adjustment of plans to meet the required schedules.
• To take the appropriate action when problems occur, raising concerns to the next level of Management if required.
• To perform any other tasks allocated by Management.

What your background should look like:

• Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) in mechanical, electrical, electronic or related engineering discipline
• Overall 12+ years’ of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, Production Management, Project Management or allied disciplines.
• Manufacturing process knowledge to include Stamping, Plating, Moulding and Assembly.
• Ability to analyze data and use critical thinking to reach logical conclusions.
• Strong understanding of products, technical processes, operations and logistics.
• Excellent knowledge of Project Management methodologies (certification is a plus).
• Strong organizer and pragmatic, structured approach
• Commercial understanding / business acumen.
• Drive for results, strong action orientation.
• Strong influencing skills.
• Proven ability to execute manufacturing projects and influence teams to successfully deliver on commitments to the business and customers
• Fluent communication skills facilitating collaboration with own team, customers, internal business leaders and technology leaders to create value.
• Global experience. Skilled leader in communicating across a global organization with international teams, and excellent at working within different cultures.
