Supply tooling analyst

Job Overview

Technology driven, pro-active development of the Industrial EMEA supplier base to support the TE´s Industrial technology roadmap and manufacturing footprint (incl. strategic transfers). Sharing best practice technical solutions to ensure robust processes and high efficiencies. Supporting our ECE initiatives by target oriented problem-solving strategies in case of cost, quality or delivery issues.


  • Drive / Support transfer projects in tooling-related topics with suppliers – TE’s global LCL strategy (e.g. follow processes, quality assurance, documentation, tool inspection, etc.)
  • Enhance tooling management system and process
  • Build up, manage & monitor tooling database in procurement in connection with TLM (Tool Lifecycle Management) 
  • Responsible for replacement / duplication strategy for cost savings and risk mitigation
  • Build up tooling supplier capability matrix and supplier technology knowledge exchange (Global balanced High Cost/Low Cost Footprint)
  • Develop new and existing tooling suppliers and provide TE procedures & trainings 
  • Support new tooling supplier selection during NPI process
  • Risk management of tool related supplier base
  • Lead time reduction - “time to market” improvement for new tool release / existing tool repair
  • Support critical tooling-related issues (e.g. tool breakdown and repair)  detailed technical analysis of the existing production processes (e.g. tool, machine, equipment, material flow, component usage) to develop new solutions and to coordinate the implementation together
  • Support related commodities on tooling-related topics (e.g. supplier selection, documentation, negotiation)
  • Conduct & Support tooling - related audit at suppliers

What your background should look like:

  •  Technician (Industrial Master) or Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering
  • Min. 5+ years working experience in complex tooling-related technology (e.g. molding or stamping) with additional knowledge in quality assurance basics  
  • Deep knowledge in tool manufacturing (e.g. molding / stamping / die casting / electronics and others) esp. in the connector industry
  • Quality background, auditor knowledge is a plus
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma Black belt tools
  • Competence in communication and conflict management
  • Independent working behavior and ability in decision taking
  • Previous working experience in procurement environment is a plus
  • English on business level is a must, bilingual language beneficial
  • Proactiveness and be able work independently 
  • High Communication skills
  • Advanced quality elements (Lean PD and APQP)
  • Commercial sense and affinity to negotiations
  • Demonstrates expertise across multiple commodities (die casting, plating, molding, stamping etc.)
