PRODUCTION OPERATOR

Job Overview

Salary: £20,280

Working hours: 7.45am to 4.15pm Monday to Thursday, 7.45am to 3.15pm Friday

Location: Braintree, Essex

 

Kemtron's, now part of TE Connectivity, Manufacturing/Production Teams transform raw materials into finished goods and ensure component flow. They perform changeovers and setups according to production schedule, perform quality checks according to established processes and document the results as required by our quality procedures. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

 

JOB PURPOSE

To undertake duties, including the operation of machinery and equipment in connection with the manufacture and production of a range of shielding gaskets, materials and components.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safe and appropriate use of hand-tools, jigs, fixtures and automated machines.
  • Preparation and assembly of component substances, parts and materials.
  • To acquire the appropriate skills to become flexible so as to multi-task in any production department. 
  • Work to the appropriate standard, quality and speed ensuring customer satisfaction in full.
  • Take responsibility for your own inspection and quality.
  • Any other duties deemed appropriate or necessary by management.

 

THE JOB HOLDER WILL BE EXPECTED TO

  • To maintain acceptable housekeeping standards at all times to ensure a clean & safe working environment.
  • To be competent in dexterous hand assembly processes, in-line with standard output rates
  • To have or be prepared to acquire a working knowledge of production processes.
  • To be able to read and interpret written work instructions & drawings
  • To acquire a knowledge and application of company policies, procedures and quality standards including its H & S and Environmental Management systems.
  • To accurately record company & product data using computerised systems as appropriate.
  • To work effectively as part of a team and participate in team projects & process improvement initiatives.

What your background should look like:

Previous experience working in a similar manufacturing / production role would be beneficial.
