Quality Engineer (f/m/d)

Job Overview

The TE Connectivity Quality Engineer (f/m/d) takes care that the products and/or their components are conformed to specifications and to quality standard. He/she is the focal point for all internal and customer quality topics and issues. The Quality Engineer (f/m/d) works with manufacturing engineers, production staff, designers and managers to ensure quality and maximize customer satisfaction. He/she gathers a team and analyzes quality problems to identify root causes and implement corrective actions, as well as proactive measures to improve products and processes to reduce the risks of failures.

 

Responsibilities:
•    Handle customer and internal quality issues as they arise and interface with other functions inside the company to address and resolve them.
•    Execution of failure analysis (Ishikawa, 5 Why, 8D) and use of Quality Tools for problem solving as well as analysis of quality and process data (ppm, scrap, Pareto, Cpk, MSA, etc.)
•    Ability to effectively and efficiently lead cross functional teams, provide leadership and be a capable resource for the development and execution of continuous improvement initiatives
•    Promote compliance to company procedures and processes and work with Operations and Manufacturing Engineering in the day-to-day to identify and resolve production/quality issues
•    Support process and product validation activities for new and existing products and processes to assure product and processes meet both internal and customer requirements
•    Demonstrate ability to implement quality processes proactively and effectively, think strategically and execute tactically
•    Effective cooperation with Supplier Quality Engineer and Manufacturing Engineer in resolving Customers and internal Quality issues.
•    Escalate issues to management when needed

What your background should look like:

•    Engineering degree or technician with high experience 
•    +5 years’ experience as Quality Engineer
•    Experience in automotive field and in electronic industry is a plus
•    Demonstrated experience on 8D methodology and strong problem-solving tools/skills (brainstorming, fishbone, 5W’s, etc.)
•    Experience on Statistical Process Control (SPC), process mapping, Process FMEA, process control plans, process validation, Measurement System Analysis (MSA/GR&R) and Design of
Experiments (DOE) is required
•    Knowledge of IATF 16949 and LEAN Manufacturing (or another ISO standard)
•    Internal auditor, or willingness to train for this function
•    Ability to plan, establish priorities, work on different quality topics at the same time, coordinate test and inspection procedures, conduct process capability studies, prepare statistical quality control data and develop statistical designed experiments
•    Good communication and coaching skills at all levels from the shop floor to top management
•    Lean mindset. Hands-on mentality.
•    Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and task-focused environment
•    Ability to set priorities
•    Fluent in French and English language
