TE Connectivity in Berwyn, PA is looking for a Sr. Signal Integrity Engineer to focus on the electrical design, simulation, and verification-validation testing of high speed products in the connector and/or cable assembly, radio system industry – targeting high speed communications and connectivity within data centers and wireless infrastructure. Independently work on projects in the areas of signal integrity for product and system design including modeling, simulation, testing and circuit board layout. Work collaboratively within a broader cross functional team of mechanical, manufacturing, & operations to execute leading edge products designs. Tackle challenging design problems and utilize simulation tools to guide complex designs toward success. Act as subject matter expert in signal integrity design, simulation and validation activities through product development cycles. Establish signal integrity design performance/functional requirements for new products. Perform signal integrity simulations for multiple high-speed standards on each product. This includes determining the correct simulation methodology and setup to use, as well as a good understanding of the criteria for each interface. Perform PCB design schematic and layout reviews. Create actionable recommendations based upon design reviews and simulation results. Guide connector design and component qualifications from a signal integrity standpoint. Make data driven decisions about the product functionality and areas for improvement. Participate in determining objectives and approaches to assignment. Work under general direction. Exercise discretion and independent judgement. Collaborate with other colleagues and peers. May coach and train other employees. Telecommuting permitted.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field (or foreign equivalent), plus 5 years of experience in the job offered, or in a related occupation.
Special Requirements: Requires 5 years of knowledge or experience with the following:
- Knowledge of general manufacturing processes of stamping, molding, plating and automated product assembly.
- Development engineering and participating in full product development cycles.
- Electronic components (Connectors, electronics, relays, wire and cable).
- Project management / leadership.
- Mechanical / Systems engineering discipline.
