Job Overview - Global Product Manager – High-Speed Cables

 

TE Connectivity's Product Management Teams manage all aspects of a product, from driving new product development to manufacturing to marketing. They are responsible for overall product strategy, business leadership and capacity plans to meet sales and profit targets.

As part of the Data and Devices (DND) business unit, this team is a growth driver of TE. With a substantial focus on enabling the Cloud, we work directly together with all major Cloud providers and Enterprise customers to deliver next-generation data and power solutions to enable fast-growing computing architectures that power training and inference workloads for the AI revolution.


The Global Sr. Product Manager will have responsibility for working in cooperation with other members of the broader product management team that utilize high-speed cables to identify and understanding trends in next generation data center ecosystems and architectures, then translating those trends to the appropriate New Product roadmaps and product launches. Global Sr. Product Managers act as a “mini” GM driving the overall product strategy, business leadership and capacity plans to achieve revenue and gross margin targets that enable long term competitiveness and success of the product line.  

This role requires strong judicious thinking, experience working across regions and a strong proactive work ethic and a proven track record of organizational transformation. This role must closely collaborate cross-functionally with colleagues in Sales, Engineering, Operations and Marketing to gain alignment and drive the successful execution of the product roadmaps.

Short Description

Market Sensing & Strategy Development

  • Work with cross-functional teams to articulate market trends, demand drivers, customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscape
  • Develop product roadmaps that align with business strategy, and business objectives and solve high-value customer problems
  • Work with R&D and operations in the development of new products and manage the product lifecycle  


Develop Business Plans

  • Define resource requirements necessary to execute the product roadmap
  • Work in conjunction with adjacent product managers who consume high-speed cable developing annual operating plans
  • Develop build/buy/license product portfolio strategies
  • Present, defend and achieve leadership buy-in on business case and operational plans

Execution – New Product Development and Launch

  • Be the internal champion for bulk high-speed cable projects
  • Align with and contribute to adjacent product launches utilizing bulk high-speed cable
  • Provide demand forecast inputs to S&OP
  • Attend customer meetings in support of winning new business
  • Exercise thought leadership
  • Provide inputs to Marcom for the development of collateral, including e-commerce
  • Build and maintain strategic supply partner relationships

Execution – Post-Launch Product Management

  • Contribute to delivering sustained profitable growth of adjacent products utilizing bulk high-speed cabled
  • Enable sales to promote the product line via training and the development of collateral materials that help articulate the value proposition
  • Track progress to the business plan and facilitate the resolution to gaps

 

 

What your background should look like:

Education:
•    4-year technical degree required
•    Complementary advanced business degree (MBA) preferred 

Experience:
•    10+ years of experience in product management or engineering
•    Result-oriented agent of change, proven ability to shape vision, align teams and drive organization change leading to improved business outcomes
•    Relevant product (Twinax CU Cable, Coax Cable, Twisted Pair Cable), cable manufacturing, cable supply chain and industry experience (Data Center) including understanding the landscape (Servers, Switches, AI Processing) of the surrounding product
•    Understand the competitors, an overview of the competitor offerings, and the ability to interface with engineering and sales teams to provide cross-reference information and tools for significant growth
•    Business acumen and ability to create strong relationships in complex matrix environments, with a positive attitude and ability to influence complex indirect teams
•    Technical aptitude, ability to understand the complexity of the high-speed cable offering
•    Strong organizational skills, and a strong sense of personal commitment to growth/business success
•    Excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to simplify complex concepts

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $150,000 –$225,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
