The Aerospace Defense and Marine (AD&M) business unit of TE Connectivity are leaders in the development and engineering of a comprehensive portfolio of contactors, relays, sensors, fiber optics, wires, cables, antennas, circuit protectors and moldings for harsh environments. Job Overview

The AD&M business unit is in search of an exceptional Sr. Manager, Communications.  This role can be remote based, with ideal locations in proximity to TE Corp facilities in Harrisburg and/or Berwyn, PA.   However, we will consider any area of the US with access to a major airport to allow for regular business travel.  As part of the Aerospace, Defense & Marine (AD& M) Marketing team, the Sr. Manager, Communications is responsible for defining and executing the internal communications strategy that  supports the strategy and change management efforts for the AD&M Business unit. The individual will be responsible for defining the messaging and overseeing the implementation of initiatives that engage key audiences using a variety of approaches and channels, as well as serving as a strategic communications advisor to the General Manager and leadership team of the business.

The ideal candidate must be a strong leader who can influence the communication strategies of the leadership team, while also being an expert at communicating in all media (written, oral, video, infographic and digital forms), self-directed and able to execute a high volume of projects that support a variety of different global internal stakeholders. They must be passionate about the work they do, able to adapt quickly to changes in plans, goals or objectives and able to both create strategic plans and execute tactical program elements. They must excel at message development, storytelling and writing with a style that captures the author’s voice and intent, and the audience’s attention.
To be successful in this role, the Communications Manager will need to build strong relationships based on confidence and trust with various key collaborators—from our executive leadership team and human resource partners, to corporate communications teams. This position will report to the the Vice President of Human Resources for AD&M, with dotted line reporting to the Sr. Director of Marketing for AD&M.  This role will partner closely with the VP of HR to drive major cultural and engagement initiatives for the business.




•    Creating and executing a comprehensive internal communications plan for the business unit (in collaboration with marketing and human resources leadership), from concept to execution, to drive greater employee engagement and cultural change
•    Establishing, nurturing and activating a global network of “communications champions” at each major site within the AD&M business
•    Partnering with human resources and senior management to plan/schedule/deploy informative and compelling executive messages, organizational announcements, scripts and talking points
•    Working with global plant managers to enable the use of TE’s digital internal communications channels to enable communication with all business unit employees in office and plant environments around the world
•    Driving internal campaigns around key business milestones and initiatives, such as our Exceptional Customer Experience and Lean Improvement programs
•    Partnering with TE’s Corporate Communications on enterprise-wide programs and initiatives, such as the company’s intranet/intranet sites, corporate branding campaigns, digital and social media activity, etc.
•    Work with business unit GMs, human resources, legal teams and corporate communications to manage all communication efforts (internal and external) related to organization actions and factory transitions
•    Manage all COVID-19 related business unit communications with internal stakeholders, including messaging to customers
•    Developing and enhancing employee communications-related performance metrics to measure effectiveness, progress and business impact


Skills and Experience

•    Bachelor’s degree or higher in communications, English, journalism, or public relations required
•    At least 5-10 years communications experience including a demonstrated ability to produce effective communication strategies
•    Previous global communications experience is required
•    Previous experience leading internal communications efforts to drive cultural change highly preferred
•    Excellent communication skills, written and verbal with the ability to understand and distill information, be concise, and capture interest
•    Fluency in English is required
•    Ability to create appealing and compelling presentations which capture audience interest and enhance messaging
•    Experience counseling and advising executive management
•    Knowledgeable on current communications trends and practices
•    Proven skill in using digital/social media to connect with stakeholders through compelling messages and stories
•    Curious and genuinely interested in learning TE’s AD&M business to enhance communications
•    Experience building ad hoc communities and coalitions to achieve business results
•    Experience building and managing communications budgets

This position may require access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). •    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience:
