Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Corporate FP&A team provides integral support to the CEO and CFO, Investor Relations, Corporate Strategy, and other enterprise functions and the business. 

As part of Corporate FP&A, the enterprise functional spend team provides accurate and timely business decision support to the CFO, business and functional leads through financial analysis and detailed reporting, as part of annual and strategic planning, internal forecasting and other company initiatives. 

The Director – Functional Spend will be responsible for the team’s delivery of key financial planning and forecasting processes for over $1 billion in enterprise functional spend, including recommending and driving strategic initiatives. A key focus of the role will include leveraging improved data architecture and analytics to drive better business decision support.

The Director will be expected to influence decision-making by senior level corporate and business unit management through persuasive analysis and communication, and build effective relationships within the business.

The position will be located in Berwyn, PA, with some travel to Harrisburg, PA, and will report to the Vice President of Corporate FP&A.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the team in the provision of timely business decision support through conduct of financial analysis, reporting and business case modeling. Key customers include the CFO and team, EVP and General Counsel, SVP of Global Operations and team, SVP of Human Resources, Chief Marketing Officer, Chief Technology Officer and other key business and functional leaders.
  • Align and standardize reporting processes in order to leverage improved data architecture and analytics, driving more accurate, relevant and timely business decision support, 
  • Develop, analyze and publish key financial metrics to drive improved business performance
  • Coordinate the corporate functions’ planning processes (forecast, budget, strategic plan) and performance review cycles, including developing and establishing operational targets.
  • Manage the enterprise allocation process to segments and business units, to align functional spend with where cost decisions are made
  • As part of Global Operations support, provide analytical insight and reporting on the financial impact of productivity and inventory, with a strong understanding of both P&L and cash impacts.
  • Provide support for other ad/hoc requests (e.g. Board presentations, capital expenditure analysis)

Qualifications - Along with our core values of integrity, accountability, teamwork and innovation we are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting with 10+ years of direct experience.
  • MBA, CFA or other Master’s qualification highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of FP&A experience and 2+ years management experience.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both verbally and written, for a senior executive audience.  Able to tactfully highlight and defend positions in front of senior management.
  • Ability to develop talent, and effectively coach and motivate others
  • Advanced financial modeling skills – ability to create pro forma or forecasted Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; Financial system / ERP knowledge a plus, along with familiarity with data analysis tools such as Tableaux or Power BI
