Job Overview
TE Energy’s Utilities team is looking for a Business Development Manager to spearhead commercial growth activities for our Smart Grid Solutions across Eastern US and Canada.
This is an exciting time for both TE Energy and the broader Utilities sector. The industry is experiencing unprecedented change, driven by surging power demand and massive investments in grid renewal, hardening, and modernization to handle increasing loads from sources like data centers and electrification. TE Energy provides a broad portfolio of products and solutions to Utilities, with Smart Grid solutions representing a new, high-growth, and strategic part of our portfolio.
Job Requirements
- Develop a broad understanding of TE Energy’s Smart Grid solutions to be able to educate and evangelize with our sales team and Utility customers
- Collaborate with other TE Energy commercial functions like Sales & Product Management to execute on Smart Grid growth strategy
- Work closely with Sales on identifying and closing Smart Grid opportunities across Eastern US and Canada
- Provide consultative and technical sales support during customer-facing meetings, actively driving and supporting complex sales cycles from lead qualification through final contract negotiation and closure
- Lead discovery conversations, gather technical and commercial requirements, and position relevant TE products and solutions
- Build and manage an early-stage pipeline through prospecting, outreach campaigns, industry events and lead generation initiatives
- Develop and deliver tailored, high-impact product presentations and technical value propositions directly to key decision-makers at target Utility accounts
- Track evolving market trends and customer needs in the realm of Smart Grid products and solutions to help refine and iterate our go-to-market strategy
What your background should look like
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business administration
- 5+ years of sales or business development experience in the Electric Power industry
- Prior experience or understanding of smart grid principles and concepts
- Strong track record in identifying, qualifying, and converting new business opportunities
- Comfortable working in cross-functional, international team within a matrix organization
- Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for data analysis, presentations, and reporting
- Travel up to 50% within Eastern US and Canada with 1-2 trips to Europe per year

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $118,900 – $148,600 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
