Job Overview

As a member of the Medical Americas Accounting Services team, the Accountant II provides specialized support in various accounting functions including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and General Accounting. Will also provide general analytical support by applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements, and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. Handles special projects and investigation as needed.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Essential Functions 
 
•    Under the general supervision of the Accounting Supervisor, performs general accounting, maintains accounting records, and other related duties in daily administration of accounting department
•    Maintains general ledger to include the preparation of journal entries, accounts analysis and reconciliation, closing books monthly, and setting up new accounts, HFM uploads and supplemental schedules.
•    Performs bank reconciliation monthly, verifies all deposits, and addresses questions and problems from banking institutions
•    Assists with internal audits 
•    Organizes and maintain customer documents, such as resale certificates, W-9’s, etc.
•    Respond to customer inquiries, problem solve, help resolve disputes
•    Maintains records of all financial documents with appropriate supporting material. Updates records as necessary
•    Recommends, designs, and implements any necessary department controls and follows TE Policy
•    Audit & enforce compliance of T&E Policies
•    Prepare and process month end journal entries
•    Processing of AR CM/DM’s & invoices
•    Coordinate monthly closing process; ensure the correct and accurate posting of entries
•    Coordinate monthly account analyses process; ensure that responsibility for analysis of all balance sheet accounts is communicated and enforced
•    Maintain records in compliance with record retention policy
•    Assist Quarterly and Year-end requirements as assigned
•    Works with other Finance Staff, other functional area personnel, and Corporate personnel as needed to perform the job functions and to assist with overflow work and/or special projects as needed
•    Responsible for assuring compliance with GAAP, SOX and consistency with overall corporate guidelines and management policy


Qualifications 
•    Bachelors of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting/Finance
•    Minimum of 3 years of experience financial disciplines (operations, cost, controlling, etc.)
•    Strong understanding of accounting principles and disciplines.
•    Hyperion, Syteline, Epicore and SAP software a plus
•    Advanced PC skills in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook
•    Detail oriented, good verbal and written communication skills
•    Strong interpersonal and analytical skills; self-starter, motivated, independent thinker.
•    Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Process and Good Documentation Practice
