Job Overview

Independent conceptualization, development and analysis of innovative sensor products with strategic value to business development.

What your background should look like:

What will you do?

  • Conception and design as well as FEM simulation of mechanical and optical sensor components and systems as well as tooling using CAD, taking into account technological and application-related boundary conditions, including organization of sampling and prototypical realization  
  • Responsible for decisions in the development of products and/or technologies and the elaboration of product innovations as well as co-design of development roadmaps
  • Selection /initiation to select materials and processes under technical, economic and ecological aspects
  • Project management in pre-development projects and/or decision-making authority for the development of products/technologies in NPI projects
  • Creation and management of development and design documentation in PDM
  • Initiation and coordination of network partners and suppliers as well as support of project management, key account management and sales, ensuring close cooperation and coordination with internal interfaces
  • Technical training of colleagues on issues in the specialist area as well as consulting and coordination of departments/customers    
  • Compliance with regulatory, technical, and economic specifications, cost unit responsibility

 

What you need to do it?

  • Master of Science Degree or higher (Mechanical engineering, optical sciences, material sciences, physics, micro system technology or similar
  • At least 5 years of relevant practical job experience
  • Special knowledge of mechanical, thermal and optical design and simulation, ideally in design of sensors
  • very good knowledge using mCAD software like Solidworks, ideally also optical software like Zemax and simulation software like ANSYS
  • Knowledge in architecture and function of sensors, metrology, material science, tools and micro-mechanic assembly technologies 
  • Very good knowledge of design of experiments and statistical analysis as well as FMEA
