Advanced Quality Engineer (f/m/d)

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Quality Assurance Teams are responsible for all or part of an organization's Quality Management System, including conformance and continuous improvement initiatives. They work on systemic evaluation of products, services, facilities, manufacturing or business processes, to ensure that standards of quality are being met. Develop and implement quality plans, programs and procedures using quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. They reviews, analyze and report on quality discrepancies, investigate problems and executes quality audits, and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. The team works closely with manufacturing, engineering, customers, or suppliers and subcontractors to ensure requirements are met.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with product specifications, customer requirements and manufacturing process needs during the product and process design/development phase per LeanPD2 and until release is safely achieved
  • Challenge the project team to deliver the best product to the customer
  • Responsibility for the quality of the project launch as well as the quality tasks of the project, including the entire project from the initial design through production release and customer PPAP approval (G5), at which point when the quality responsibilities are transferred from advanced quality to sustaining quality (Factory Quality)
  • Monitore the performance of safe launch and approve the exit of the safe launch phase.
  • Collaborate with Factory Quality for any quality performance needed as a result of poor safe launch performance

Requirements and skills

  • B.S. degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field
  • Experience with quality related activities, particularly APQP
  • Experience in relevant industry (Automotive, ICT, Medical, Aerospace, Rail, etc…) and in design and manufacturing of electro-mechanical components or sensors preferred
  • Experience with Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Failure Tree Analysis (FTA), with Product Part Approval Process (PPAP) or industry alternative, conducting statistical analysis studies such as process capability (ie Cpk,Ppk) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Measurement System Analyses (MSAs)
  • Knowledge of relevant industry quality management system (ie IATF16949 for automotive/ICT)
  • Ability to work in international environment with different locations and cultures
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good German and English language skills
