STAFF FIELD APPLICATION ENGINEER

Job Overview

Customer project winning
•    Help Customers developing their new platforms with focus on: DATA Connectivity current and future products; supported by Account Managers.
Strategic Planning
•    Communicate and influence growth plan to internal stakeholders 
•    Align growth plan and Customer technical needs closely with overall account strategy plan from account owner (AM).
•    Communicate Voice Of the Customer to internal stakeholders and communicate impact to internal stakeholders. Including development of solutions and influencing business directions.
•    Identify gaps in our product and technology roadmaps in conjunction with Customers roadmaps.
Cultivate / Manage Relationships
•    Continuously caring for a good trusting relationship between the Customer and TE
•    Build Customer partnerships by continually demonstrating a strong value proposition and Extraordinary Customer Experience (ECE)
Demand Creation
•    Identify the needs of the Customer as early as possible by understanding the Customers, products, end markets and applications
•    Gather all information needed to make the design input available as complete as possible
•    Interface between the TE Engineering design team, Product Managemnt and the Customer to ensure that both sides understand the requirements and have all needed information available
•    Coordination and early involvement of and on-time communication with all involved TE internal departments (account manager, engineering, production, project management, marketing, etc.)
•    Ensure on time Customer delivery of all information, including samples and supporting design and product verification activities
•    Stay in permanent contact with the Customer and report project status and feedback
•    Attend project meetings and conduct regular Customer calls and presentations
•    Do problem solving and assessing technical complaints
•    Develop influencing skills through relationship management, strong communication, and synthesize information in a coherent and impactful way
•    Prepare materials for Customer visits
•    Extraordinary Customer Experience (ECE) through positive Customer communication and touchpoints with both internal and external Customers  
Market Intelligence
•    Knowledgeable of our current/future product positioning to gain or re-gain market share.   This also includes identifying the right selling methodology
•    Understands key components of a Competitive Landscape: Customers’ needs and how you can address those needs; how you compare against your competitors in meeting those needs 
•    Drives brand awareness and positioning with our Customers (solutions and capabilities)
•    Aligns marketing strategies specific to our Customers and selling channels
•    Promote BU technologies and product capabilities with the Customer
 

What your background should look like:

  • Bachelor’s degree of Engineering in one of the following academic disciplines mechanics, electrics, electronics or relevant 
  • Minimum three years’ experience in Automotive or Industrial and Commercial Transportation engineering (required) and/or sales (preferred)
  • Awareness or ability to gain the relevant market standards and requirements
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to build strong, credible relationships with multiple organization functions (inside and outside of TE) 
  • Must have demonstrated successful experience in process management
  • Business acumen and strong project management skills
  • Clear, strategic thinker with the ability to execute on priorities 
  • Creativity to see alternatives
  • Ability to work toward targets
  • Demonstrated behaviours and values at or above TE standards
  • German and English language skills (fluently)
