JOB OVERVIEW:
We are building a world-class Global Trade Services (GTS) organization, including Operational Service Centers focused on critical trade services. This new role is for an analyst in the Duty Mitigation Operational Service Center (OSC), which is responsible for supporting centralized core activities of managing Duty Avoidance and Savings projects in all locations where TE operates. This role will be responsible for executing key aspects of the Duty Mitigation OSC, delivering centralized management of duty and tariff mitigation, obtaining and completing supplier declarations through the GTS FTA tool, analysing high dutiable products to enable preferential qualification where possible, and other aspects related to duty savings to support TE’s operations. Key responsibilities relate to the Duty Mitigation OSC include but are not limited to authenticating supplier declarations, issuing declarations to TE’s customers, and being the key contact to the BU’s for declaration requests and questions. The role reports to Matt Swift, joining a team of global trade professionals who are passionate about ensuring the future growth of the business by providing business solutions for compliance with global trade laws and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Process Long Term Supplier Declarations (LTSD) both within the MIC tool and approving and uploading supplier provided LTSDs, verifying their compliance with the relevant FTA.
- Assisting suppliers with connecting and using OCS-Web and enabling them to register with the TE supplier portal.
- Monitoring and processing supplier responses in the TE FTA Solicitation Email Inbox
- Proactively investigating parts for preference and where possible, making the necessary actions to enable preference qualification.
- Responding to customer requests for preference documentation, enabling the preference status of parts where possible, and being the key DMSC contact to the customer service and sales teams across the BUs.
- Assisting with MIC implementations within the region
- Collecting and maintaining critical information to enable the oversight of duty-saving activity occurring within the region.
- Establishing relationships with Business Unit GTS team members and other functional leaders in the businesses to assist with duty savings opportunities.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Success in the role requires self-management, priority planning, creative problem-solving skills, strategic analysis and planning capabilities involving complex situations, highly developed oral and written communication skills, communicating to external suppliers and customers in a professional manner and the ability to communicate issues internally.
- Bachelor’s degree required (international relations, supply chain, law or related field preferred)
- 4+ years of experience in international trade, focusing primarily on trade compliance and management of customs and duty savings programs
- Preferred: 3+ years of experience in communications, industrial, or transportation industries
- Functional knowledge of customs, free trade agreements and free trade zones, bonded warehouses, and other topics related to duty savings in multiple jurisdictions
- Proven ability to build trust and work with a variety of business groups in a dynamic global organization
- Highly developed decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to execute and provide results despite challenges and setbacks.
