Responsibilities
Reporting to the Procurement Transformation Senior Manager in the DDN Procurement Team, the Sustainability Lead will be leading the development and execution of strategies to optimize supplier scope 3 emissions.
The role requires the ability to effectively collaborate and partner with DDN Business Unit Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering and Operations teams to drive an aligned scope 3 emissions reduction strategy.
• Lead the development and execution of the Scope 3 emissions reduction roadmap across key direct material categories (e.g., base metals, precious metals, electronic components, PBL stamped/moulded/diecast parts).
• Partner closely with category managers and sourcing teams to embed sustainability criteria into sourcing strategies, supplier selection, and negotiation processes.
• Engage strategic suppliers to define emission baselines and co-develop measurable, time-bound decarbonization targets.
• Drive supplier enablement programs to build capabilities in carbon accounting, life cycle assessment (LCA), and use of low-carbon materials and processes.
• Analyze supplier-level emissions data and material footprints to identify high-impact reduction levers (e.g., recycled content, renewable energy use, process efficiency improvements).
• Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to evaluate design-for-sustainability options and material substitution opportunities.
• Manage supplier sustainability assessments and ensure timely collection of emissions data aligned with generally accepted guidelines.
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess potential impacts on procurement and supplier compliance.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of procurement-related sustainability KPIs and reporting dashboards.
• Support annual CDP, EcoVadis, and/or internal ESG reporting requirements through supplier engagement and data validation.
• Identify and onboard third-party tools or consulting partners for carbon data collection, modeling, or verification as needed.
• Facilitate cross-functional workshops or forums to align internal stakeholders on decarbonization goals, trade-offs, and procurement decisions.
• Track emerging low-carbon technologies, materials, and innovations within the supply base to inform sourcing strategies.
• Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships to foster innovation in circularity, closed-loop systems, and end-of-life recovery initiatives.
• Report regularly to sustainability and procurement leadership on progress against reduction targets, supplier performance, and risk mitigation plans.
Required Skills
At least 8 years of experience in a global or regional Procurement and / or Supply Chain Sustainability role with experience in Industrial electronics / manufacturing (preferred)
Broad commodity knowledge of semi-conductors, PCB, PCBA and electronic components (preferred)
Knowledge of global electronics sourcing
Strong understanding of role and application of data – analytics – insights
Previous experience with working on Sustainability initiatives especially linked to upstream emissions
Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate to people at all levels of the organisation in both commercial and technical roles
