The Aerospace, Defense and Marine (AD&M) business unit of TE is part of the Industrial Solutions segment -- a world leader in the design of components and electrical interconnection solutions that are used for applications in extreme and harsh environments. Job Overview

The Project Proposals Specialist (“PPS”) leads the internal activities to develop comprehensive project solutions that maximize value for the customer, comply with customer requirements, and position the company to win new project awards.  PPS is responsible for developing project proposals and effective transitions from proposal to execution.  

PPS plays an integral role in delivering solutions that create ECE and enhanced customer value. This role will influence decisions and activities that optimize business performance and bring out the best in people and processes. PPS is expected to take meaningful actions to deliver consistent profitable growth and continuous improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review customer’s request for quotation (“RFQ”) to clearly identify and interpret customer requirements. 
  • Influence and support customer engagements to understand underlying operational, technical and economic conditions of the Project.  Collaborate with others to develop solutions that anticipate customer needs
  • Organize feedback from internal stakeholders to identify customer requirements that need to be clarified or processed as an official exception/deviation
  • Organize inputs from internal stakeholders to develop the company’s scope of supply, project cost estimate and the baseline project schedule
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for project standardization
  • Review customer purchase orders and all relevant specifications and requirements. Facilitates and leads the contract review process for new project awards. 
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to negotiate and reach agreements on commercial terms and conditions for Project purchase orders (i.e. contracts)
  • Engage with customers to promote ECE and strong customer partnerships
  • Represent the business in a professional manner, demonstrating the core values of integrity, accountability, teamwork, and innovation
  • Communicate future customer demand to the business, ensuring all internal stakeholders have clear visibility of anticipated project business
  • Facilitate effective kickoff meetings upon receipt of new project purchase orders – ensure effective handoffs to Project Manager and Operations.  Ensure all customer requirements are established prior to order acceptance and flowed clearly to the respective stakeholders in the business for seamless execution
  • Support internal project scheduling / budgeting / planning and coordination between internal stakeholders to ensure schedule adherence, realization of expected profit margins, and delivery of conforming products

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong team leadership and facilitation skills - must be able to influence without organizational authority
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly acquire technical product knowledge and applications
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and without structured processes. 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop or continuously improve related processes to eliminate waste and drive process effectiveness
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work effectively on a variety of projects concurrently, in a demanding environment, under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering commitments to customers, shareholders and peers.  Accepts personal responsibility for actions and results
  • Must have at least three years of relevant professional experience
