The Aerospace, Defense and Marine (AD&M) business unit of TE is part of the Industrial Solutions segment -- a world leader in the design of components and electrical interconnection solutions that are used for applications in extreme and harsh environments. Job Overview

The Materials Planning Analyst is responsible for working with Planning Team for developing and issuing executable production schedules for project and value stream production lines to meet customer on time delivery. This includes verification of available capacity and materials to meet the production schedule.  This position will recommend appropriate stocking levels based on production and demand. The Materials Analyst is responsible for researching and recommend appropriate MRP data changes to optimize the planning process and driving out waste. The Materials Analyst coordinates daily with the Production and Procurement teams to validate and update MRP system and the production schedule and help resolve issues affecting schedule adherence and customer service updates.




  • Plans production for project or value streams. 
  • Plans flow of work through plant, considering raw materials and shipping dates of finished products
  • Alters MRP dates and schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Follows the progress of assigned orders to ensure the production schedule is being met, investigates incomplete or delayed orders to provide internal status.
  • Works closely with cross-functional leads to identify, plan and resolve inconsistencies and gaps between demand and supply.
  • Coordinates and communicates production requirements within the respective Value Stream. 
  • Works with buyers to assure raw materials and purchased parts meet production and delivery requirements.
  • Responsible for expedites within value streams, as required, to ensure production schedules are met.
  • Monitors lead times and makes recommendations for lead time changes.
  • Reviews and understands Capacity Planning tools.
  • Communication and coordination with Production Supervisors and Customer Service.  The production planner is accountable to schedule execution and works closely with production supervisors to ensure schedule adherence and recovery if required.
  • Initiate and participate in continuous improvement activities related to production planning, customer service and inventory management.
  • Review MRP data integrity for material and Lead-times.
  • Manage and maintain inventory levels ensuring uninterrupted supply of parts while maintaining optimal inventory levels, along with ensuring customer reliability and meeting target inventory turns.


Required Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Business, Logistics or related field. (Recommended)
  • 3-5 years scheduling operations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize workload as conflicts arise and understand and deal with the impacts of their priority decisions, meeting customer needs while protecting the interests of the company.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to identify and resolve inconsistencies and gaps between demand and supply (forecast/customer orders vs. supply chain, shop capacity and manpower)
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required, 
  • Strong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Excellent collaboration skills required.  Able to effectively interface at all levels of the organization.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • APICS CPIM/CSCP-Recommended
  • 3-5 years material management / material requirements planning / master production scheduling experience
  • LEAN implementation experience a plus
