UX Design Lead
Job Overview
We're looking for a UX Design Lead who thrives on solving complex problems with elegant, user-centered solutions. As a strategic contributor to both our website and data product reporting experiences, you'll lead initiatives from discovery to delivery. You’re curious by nature, a self-starter who loves iterative improvement, and someone who brings strong visual and interaction design expertise to every challenge. You’ll influence change and be a mentor/coach to our production design staff.
Job Requirements
- Lead end-to-end UX design for high-impact web and data product experiences.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, developers, and data teams to translate complex business requirements into intuitive user experiences.
- Be the Bangalore lead for all UX design related needs: Lead project deliverables, manages time, and produces communications for projects.
- Act as DesignOps Lead: Define playbooks and processes for the UX design practice.
- Ensures that work is assigned and executed from an execution standpoint.
- Use research, testing, and analytics to continuously iterate and optimize digital solutions.
- Develop wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs with attention to accessibility and site performance.
- Understand and implement accessibility optimizations on TE.com.
- Own the TE.com design system and identify opportunities to integrate brand standards into site UX/UI frameworks and enhancements.
- Advocate for user needs across projects while aligning with business goals and technical constraints.
- Guide junior team members through UX mentorship and coaching.
- Ability to work both independently and in a cross-functional global team across time-zones
- Can tolerate ambiguity and can still perform at an exceptional level
What your background should look like
- 5+ years of experience in UX design with a proven track record leading design projects.
- Strong portfolio showcasing UX problem-solving across web and data interfaces that clearly communicates the problem(s) being solved, your role/responsibilities for the project, insights gathered that informed the solution, how the solution solved the problem(s), and any results or lessons learned.
- Ability to define and present clear case studies that show the from/to value of the work the UX design team produces.
- Experienced in operationalizing design through DesignOps practices, including systematizing design processes, managing design infrastructure, and enabling cross-functional collaboration for efficient delivery.
- Deep understanding of usability principles, interaction design, and responsive frameworks.
- Expertise in design tools such as Figma, Zeplin, Miro.
- Experience using data and AI-integrated insights to inform and optimize design.
- Experience in UX research tools that include: Adobe Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Dovetail, UserTesting.com.
- Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards and performance best practices.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design rationale to non-design audiences.
- Exceptional ability to take and apply feedback to support business goals/outcomes.
- Experience with work tracking tools, such as JIRA
