Job Overview
The Business Development Manager will work directly with Sr Managers and Directors of Segment & Business Unit Strategy Teams to create shareholder value by working on the most important strategic initiatives across TE Connectivity.
Job Responsibilities:
In this critical role, the Manger Strategy & BD will support the Industrial Solutions Segment team in developing and executing growth strategies and supporting our Business Units in delivering sustained value. The candidate will have the following primary responsibilities:
• Perform analyses to generate impact driven insights, with a strong focus on Future Target Market assessment (i.e., identify business expansion & M&A opportunities across the Industrial Solutions Segment)
• Collaborate within segment strategy and with corporate and business unit teams to translate business requests into well-defined problem statements
• Lead cross-functional teams in solving complex business problems using a hand-on hypothesis-driven approach and acting as a thought leader
• Identify key trends across markets, industries, and competitors that affect our businesses
• Create analytical models to address key business questions and translate output into clear findings and recommendations
• Support the successful development and deployment of the annual strategy development process (for the Segment and the four Business Units)
• Communicate strategy recommendations and insights in executive format to the Segment leadership team, Business Unit teams and/or Corporate strategy.
• Support the quarterly performance management process (i.e., prepare the Enterprise Scorecard Review with TE Executive Committee) and lead deep-dives into select business priorities
• Lead internal and external (e.g. investor) reporting and business review activities
• Guide and coach junior project team members and support talent development, wellbeing and inclusion initiatives that we lead across the Industrial Solutions Segment
Desired Candidate Profile
Success in the role requires strong problem-solving acumen and a strategic mindset, good communication and presentation skills, the ability to work seamlessly with leaders at multiple levels in the organization, and the skills and tenacity to achieve results.
• 2-3 years of experience in management consulting or comparable roles (required)
• Additional experience in corporate strategy, market research or quantitative analysis (preferred)
• International experience or exposure a plus
• Experience creating presentations and communicating ideas and plans
• Excellent with MS-Excel and MS-PPT; proficiency in data analytics suite is a plus
• Track record of demonstrated leadership potential through academics, work, and/or community activities
• Industrial market industry experience is a plus, but not necessarily required
• Strong sense of tact, confidentiality, and maturity
